Instructions

Players
4-6 (one player to be the timer for each round)

Equipment
1 x score sheet per player (these could be laminated for repeated use)
1 x set of letter cards
1 x stopwatch or sand timer
whiteboard markers or pencils

How to Play
1. Select a version of the game to play. There are four versions to choose
from (see top of score sheet).
2. Shuffle the letter cards and place them face-down. When all the players
are ready, the timer chooses a letter card from the top of the pile and
shows it to the other players.
3. After three seconds, the timer starts the stopwatch (or flips the sand
timer). The players must then fill in as much of their score card as possible
by thinking of nouns for each category that begin with the letter on the
card e.g. a boy’s name that begins with the letter ‘f’.
4. After one minute, the players must stop writing and share their responses
with the group. Points are allocated according to the following rules:
• no response to a category = 0 points
• response that is correct, but is the same as someone else in the
group = 1 point
• response that is correct, but is different to everyone else in the
group = 2 points
5. Once everyone has shared their responses, players record their total point
score for the round on their score sheet.
6. Choose a new player to be the timer for the next round. Repeat steps 1-5
for each additional round.
