Test Report: Measurement of Turns Ratio

The document reports on a turns ratio test of a transformer. The test measured the ratio of turns between the primary and secondary windings at different tap settings from 1 to 17. The test found the turns ratios for phases A, B, and C to be within -0.15% to 0.02% of the nominal ratios, confirming the transformer has the correct turns ratios. The turns ratio test verifies the transformer's primary to secondary winding configuration and can identify issues like incorrect tap settings or winding faults.

Measurement of Turns Ratio

Transformer Turns Ratio. The transformer turns ratio is the number of turns of the primary winding divided
by the number of turns of the secondary coil. The transformer turns ratio provides the expected operation
of the transformer and the corresponding voltage required on the secondary winding.

Connection Diagram: For Dyn1 vector group

Phase A Phase B

Phase C

Procedure:
1. All busbar connections were removed from the terminals of the transformer.
2. Measurement settings were verified according to the test requirements.
3. Measurement was started from the tap no 1 to no 17 and the tap was changed manually/Automatically.
4. Connection was given according to the above connection diagram.
5. Assessment was conducted & the result was recorded automatically in the CPC 100.

Comments:

The transformer turns ratio test, or TTR test is hereby confirming that the transformer has the correct ratio
of primary turns to secondary turns. Above all using this test it has become possible to identify tap changer
performance, shorted turns, open windings, incorrect winding connections and other faults inside
transformers.
