Bullying is now known to have long-term negative effects on both victims and bullies. It involves repeated abuse or harassment against those who are weaker. Victims of bullying experience fear, low self-esteem, and poor academic performance due to feeling unable to study well or enjoy school. There is a relationship between bullying and school environment factors like class size and resources. Parental involvement is important for children's academic performance and well-being, but some parents lack time to support their children due to work commitments, which can negatively impact the child.

Once thought of the right passage or harmless behavior that helps build character, bullying is

now known to have long-term academic, physical and emotional effects on both the victim and the
bully, is a serious problem. ( Campbell,20015)
A student is being bullied when he or she is “exposed, repeatedly and over time,” to abuse or
harassment by one or more students.(Olweus, 1996)
Bullies engaged in hurtful behavior against those who can’t defend themselves because of size or
strength, or because the victim is outnumbered or less psychologically resilient.
Bullied children live within fear, self-blame, feel weak and it affects their personality traits and
self-confidence so this situation makes them unable to study well and they might hate going to school
and turn to truancy. Furthermore, they will lose their oppurtunities to participate with others or enjoy
school activities. Hence, the will again low academic performance and low educational attainment.
(Oliver and candappa,2003)
There is a relationship between bullying and school quality such as number of student in the
classroom, lack of library, sports facilities and if the teacher considers himsel/herself as a mother of
father when he or she treats children during their educational progress. Dearden et al. (2002).

The family is the basic component of a community, it consists of a mother who’s incharge to take
good care of her family. The father who’s responsibility is to work to sustain the needs of his family
and the sibling to help their parents. As parent they have responsibility to take their children to school
and support them not only financially but also morally. Every child needs different attention from
their parents because it can affect the academic performance of their child. Nowadays, some parents
do not have enough time to support their children in their studies. Some parents are busy working all
day and don’t have time to help their children in some activities in school. There ate times that other
parents choose to work rather than to attend some school activities of their children. This is why they
are not updated with what is happening to their children in school. They don’t know if their children
have problems in school . if all parents act like this, it can be a big problem not only in the academic
performance of their children but also the child and parents relationship. Its important that parents
know the problem of their children, so that they will know what kind of support and attention their
childre need.
Family involvement embraces moral, physical, emotional, financial, and academic needs and it
serves as a societal investment in the creation of happy and productive individuals.
