LESSON NO. 12: Graphs of Quadratic Functions

CONTENT STANDARD:
 demonstrates understanding of the four fundamental
operations involving fractions and decimals
LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
 models real-life situations using quadratic functions.
 represents a quadratic function using:
(a) table of values;
(b) graph; and
(c) equation
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
 define the quadratic functions and their graphs
 solve and graph involving quadratic functions
 cite examples involving quadratic inequalities in real life
problems.

Function- a relationship or expression involving one or more variables.


"the function (bx + c)"
Quadratic- comes from "quad" meaning square, because the variable gets
squared (like x2). It is also called an "Equation of Degree 2"
Domain- is the set of all possible x-values which will make the function "work",
and will output real y-values.
Range- is the resulting y-values we get after substituting all the possible x-
values.
