The diamond is one of the deceptive price structures in the market. This structure
snatches up both the buyer and seller at the same time; which can fill up the large
orders of major traders. It includes a southern engulf, a northern fakeout, and a
southward reversal in the supply zone; and vice versa for demand. Since one picture
can tell us many things, let’s look at a few charts below.

1. Price 3drive to supply (good approach for rejection).

2. And yes, it rejects nicely. S/D traders sell.

3. Then it engulfs D. Breakout traders sell. This is the first


stage of the diamond.

5. Massive orders are then placed to shoot price up. This


certainly spooks all sellers. Once it engulfs the high, sellers may
very well close their shorts. Breakout traders will also begin to
buy.

6. But once price hits the next LTF level, there are
enough stops and buyers to fill the big guys’ massive
short orders. Price can then reverse.

7. And what has just happened is a diamond.

This is one of the reasons you need to know exactly where to place your stop. And
trust the zone you place your stop in.
