LECTURER X1

 
The purpose of the job is to:

 Teach Computer Science modules up to NQF Level 8 that contribute towards


graduateness1 by applying UNISA’s Open-Distance-Learning Model
 Assess students by using formative, as well as summative assessment
 Conduct research into Digital Skills for the 4 th Industrial Revolution in order to
produce at least two accredited research outputs in a period of three years, thereby
enhancing the University’s standing as a research institute of international repute
 Be involved in the Digital Skills Research project and academic citizenship and
Contribute to the achievement of the Department of Computer Science’s strategic
and operational objectives through the above-mentioned endeavours

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

 Applicable academic qualification at NQF level 9 for a vocational or academic


area (e.g., Master’s degree )

Experience

Tuition
 Must have at least one-year teaching experience
 Must have completed an assessor training program
 Must be able to make a reasonable presentation on a topic that is of interest
to them in their discipline
 Experience with teaching in an ODL environment will be an advantage.

Research
 Demonstrated potential to engage in research.

 Qualification plus registration for qualification at next level.

Community engagement
 Willingness to participate in community engagement and outreach

Academic citizenship
 Willingness to participate in departmental, school, college and University
committees including task teams and voluntary associations

Knowledge of

 MSOffice Suite such as, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, as well as


other software programmes that are relevant for teaching and research.

Assumption of duty : As soon as possible    


Salary : Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position
