Appendix C: State codes

This appendix provides codes for all state variables. The term “state” refers to states/provinces in
Mexico, the United States, and Canada, while referring only to general countries in all other cases. There
are five general sections: generic codes; Mexican states; U.S. states; Canadian provinces, and, other
(foreign) states.
