Motivation Letter

Prateek Jain - mba19088

With this letter I would like to express my sincere Interest in applying for the Student Exchange
Programme. My name is Prateek Jain and I am a first year student at Indian Institute of
Management, Jammu and currently pursuing Master of Business Administration.

Since high school I have won various art competitions and excelled in academics with a keen
interest in Maths and Arts. In 8th Standard, I managed to secure 58th rank in the National
Mathematics Olympiad, Delhi.

My excellent performance in Entrance Exams, secured me admission into a top tier engineering
college - IIIT-H where I completed my bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
I explored multiple fields during my study at the university including entrepreneurship, debating,
arts and yoga along with my coursework. Post Betch. I pursued One Year Visual Design at
Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milano to pursue my passion for Art and Design. This was my first
exposure to Europe and an International Education, an experience which I can well leverage
during the exchange semester.

I have worked at Dreamvu, India as a Brand Designer for 17 months wherein I established the
Brand Identity of the firm including the logo and Brand elements. I prepared technical
documentation and extensive marketing material for the firm. I worked on the Investors Deck
through which the firm raised series A funding (2 million USD).

A passion for marketing drove me to secure admission in the esteemed Indian institute of
Management, Jammu. Through my hard work , I secured a CGPA of 9.43 and consistently
secured 1st position in all the trimesters. I thoroughly enjoy learning new skills and my
dedication towards academics is visible throughout my record.

Within IIM Jammu, I got selected for Industry Interaction Cell and organised HR conclave 2.0
and the first edition Leadership Summit. These events witnessed participation of professionals
from across the industries greatly enhancing the visibility of IIM Jammu in the Corporate world.

The Exchange programme will greatly add to the academic curriculum. It will grant me an
exposure to a global education and an opportunity to experience perspectives of students from
around the world. Such opportunities offer great value in an increasingly interconnected world.

I am confident that given an opportunity to enroll for the exchange, I can contribute to the
programme curriculum and display an excellent academic performance. For these reasons and
more, I believe I am a worthy contender for the exchange programme.
