Talking Calculator

The Talking Calculator looks and functions the same as a regular calculator
except that it has a built in speech synthesizer so that every key pressed is
heard out loud.

Cost is available for $21.00 for a basic type calculator up to $649 for an Orion
Talking Graphing Calculator TI-84

This technology is essential for students with low vision. It can also be used at
home for budget expenses, calculate interest, calculate a loan, plan a trip, etc.
Functions include:

● Large number keys for visually impaired

● Speech synthesizer comes in male/female
voice and different language options.
● Headphones included for those with
moderate hearing loss.
● Basic math calculations, scientific, algebra,
trigonometry, graphing and calculus.
● Volume adjustment.
Emerging Technology

5G Technology

Technology in the classroom at the rate we are developing technology is

unavoidable. The most important factor for the hardwares to run
properly and efficiently is a strong network system.

On average, wifi costs about $50-$100 for a household. For a school, the
cost is $500+ a month for wifi. Now with 5G developing, Verizon Wireless
for example is investing $17-18 billions of dollars in 5G network. The
price of wifi will only go up with better internet service.
Benefits:

● Quick downloads
● Powerful network
● High speed
● Low latency wireless
● Holographic teacher- can lead
discussions on specialized topics
● Virtual reality experiences
● Less delay on devices.
Innovative Uses

Virtual Reality

Though imagining VR you might think fun and games, it has been used
in educational settings to enhance student learning and engagement.

Studies suggest that Virtual Reality improves test scores and

knowledge retention.

It is expected to transform school and colleges.

A VR program can cost as much as $15,000!

Benefits:

● Creates interest
● Increases students engagement
● Doesn’t feel like work
● Eliminates language barrier
● Improves quality of education
● Visualizations that aren’t possible
in traditional classroom
