RULES IN SCIENCE CLASS

CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT

1. Before the teacher enters the classroom, all chairs must be properly arranged according to the seat plan. Students must
be on their respective seats. NO TRANSFERRING of seats allowed. If not on the proper seat, the student will be
marked absent for that day on the science class.

2. When the seats are properly arranged, students must clean their respective places, pick up the pieces of trashes under
their chairs, and the cleaners assigned for that day will have to check the cleanliness of the whole room. Cleaners must
be responsible for the cleaning of the other parts of the room.

Cleaners should:

a. Empty the trash can.


b. Erase the writings on the white board.
c. Empty the teachers or computer table.

3. Students also should keep all things not related to science subject. When the teacher entered the room and caught you
doing things not related to his subject, all of the works you are doing will be automatically confiscated. Confiscated
works will be returned upon writing an apology letter addressed to the science teacher. The letter should be signed by
the teacher concerned of the confiscated work and the Prefect of Discipline.

4. When the teacher enters the room, everybody should greet him/her in this way:

Students: Good morning Teacher (First name of the Teacher). Praise be Jesus Christ.
Teacher: Now and forever.
Students: That Christ may be formed in us.

5. After the greetings, the secretary of the class will report to the science teacher the number of students present (boys and
girls) and the absentees of the day. If the student is not around upon checking the attendance, he/she will be marked
absent.

6. The teacher will now check if the students have a proper uniform (refer to the student’s diary) and proper haircut for
boys (refer also to the student’s diary). Students with improper uniform will have to make a promissory letter
addressed to the science teacher and signed by the class adviser and prefect of discipline. The student must strictly
abide the contents of his/her promissory letter. If not, he/she will be given sanctions as prescribed in the student diary
implemented by the Prefect of Discipline and the class adviser.

7. Science time should not be used to do other activities in other subjects unless provided with a letter addressed to the
science teacher and signed by the teacher concerned and other proper authorities.

8. In the class discussion, the things listed below must be strictly followed:

a. No student should talk unless asked by the teacher or he/she is reciting on the class.
b. No student should sleep when the teacher is discussing a topic or having an activity in the class. Students who are
not feeling well will be given permission to go to the clinic with a help from one of his/her classmate to seek proper
medication.

c. No student should interrupt the class discussion by getting permission to the science teacher. Student can directly go
out of the class provided that he/she must bring a class pass upon leaving the room.

d. No student should do other things not related to the science subject. Refer to rule number 3.

e. Eating is allowed during science time provided that the students should only be eating candies. Mentos, Maxx or any
other candies of the likes are only allowed.

7. Student absent for the day will have to present an excuse letter signed by the parent on the day he will be present again
on the class. Students with no excuse letter will still be admitted on the science class but he/she will not be allowed to
take any of the quizzes, monthly test or activities he/she missed during the days he/she was absent.

ACADEMICS

1. Students must always bring their OWN science book during science class.

2. Books must be properly covered with your name, year and section and name of the teacher labeled on the cover page of
the book.

3. Activities done during science time must be passed within the duration of science time only.

4. Assignments given must be done at home while projects and seat works must only be done at school.

5. Students who acquired 3 or more failed scores in quizzes and 1 failed score in monthly test will be given a remedial
examination.

6. All of the activities, seat works, assignment or projects must be passed on or before the deadline. No works will be
entertained after the deadline. This is STRICTLY FOLLOWED.

7. All of the portfolio must be kept on the box designated for science. No one is allowed to bring home their portfolio
unless it is days or weeks before an examination or permitted by the teacher.

8. No student should borrow a required item in science to his/her classmate during science time.

9. Students should always bring their quiz notebook during science class. Also, they are required to bring their
Investigatory Project Notebook during Investigatory Project Day.
