The Analysis and Design of Curtain Wall has been done as per the given details.Adequate design
is important for checking whether the Curtain wall meets the basic performance criteria and for
successful installation. Analysis is done in STAAD Pro subjected to a wind pressure of 0.8 KPa.
The ElevationV considered for the analysis is shown below.

Input Data:
Design wind Speed, Vs = 160 kph = 44.44 mps (As in Specification 1.7.4.2)
Height of the building, h = 33.4 m
Height above ground level, H = 4.475 m
Building Width, w = 65.409 m
Building Length, l = 90.627 m
STRUCTURAL CALCULATION OF GF CW 5
DUBAI COMMERCITY
Vs = V x S1 x S 2 x S 3
Where,
Vs = Design wind Speed for Entire building height = 44.44 m/s
V = Basic Wind speed
S1 = Topography factor =1.0
S3 = Statistical factor =1.0
S2 = Ground roughness, building size and height above ground factor
For Class A and Category 4 (Assumed) = 0.924
Therefore
Basic wind speed V = Vs / (S1 x S2 x S3)
= 44.44 / (1 x 0.924 x 1)
= 48.09 m/s

q = k x Vs2
Where,
k = 0.613 in SI units (N/m2 or m/s)
q = 0.613 x 28.372
= 493.48 N/m2
The Force F acting normal to the individual structural Element: (Clause 7.2)
F = ( Cpe – Cpi )x q x A
Where,
Cpe = External Pressure coefficient
Cpi = Internal Pressure coefficient
A = Surface area of the cladding unit
h/w = 33.4/65.409
= 0.511
l/w = 90.627/65.409
= 1.386

Where,
hx is the element or component attachment elevation with respect to grade. hx shall not be
taken less than 0.0.
hx = 20.56 m
hr is the structure roof elevation with respect to grade. = 33.4 m
Seismic zone factor Z for zone 1 = 0.075

Conclusion
Based on your design information, the load resistance is greater than or equal to
the specified loading.
Statement of Compliance
Procedures followed in determining the resistance of this window glass are in accordance with ASTM E1300-02/03.
Disclaimer:
This software can be used to determine the load resistance of specified glass types exposed to uniform lateral loads of short or long duration subject to the following conditions:
- The glass is free of edge and surface damage and has been properly glazed in the opening in conformance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Procedures exist to determine load resistance for rectangular glass assemblies that are:
a. Continuously supported along all four edges,
b. Continuously supported along three edges,
c. Continuously supported along two parallel edges, and
d. Continuously supported along one edge.
- The software user has the responsibility of selecting the correct procedures for the required application from the software.
- The stiffness of members supporting any glass edge shall be sufficient that under design load, edge deflections shall not exceed L/175,
where L denotes that length of the supported edge.
For other limiting conditions that may apply, refer to Section 5 of ASTM E1300 and local building codes.
Neither SDG nor PGMC guarantees and each disclaims any responsibility for any particular results relating to the use of the Window Glass Design 2004 Software Program.
SDG and PGMC disclaim any liability for any personal injury or any loss or damage of any kind, including all indirect, special, or consequential damages and lost profits,
arising out of or relating to the use of the Window Glass Design 2004 Software Program.

Comments: Tension displacements are valid with half of the required installation torque moment for uncracked concrete! Shear displacements are valid

The acceptable anchor displacements depend on the fastened construction and must be defined by the designer!
7 Warnings
• The anchor design methods in PROFIS Anchor require rigid anchor plates per current regulations (ETAG 001/Annex C, EOTA TR029, etc.). This means load
re-distribution on the anchors due to elastic deformations of the anchor plate are not considered - the anchor plate is assumed to be sufficiently stiff, in
order not to be deformed when subjected to the design loading. PROFIS Anchor calculates the minimum required anchor plate thickness with FEM to
limit the stress of the anchor plate based on the assumptions explained above. The proof if the rigid anchor plate assumption is valid is not carried out by
PROFIS Anchor. Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility!
• Checking the transfer of loads into the base material is required in accordance with EN 1992-4, Annex A!
• The design is only valid if the clearance hole in the fixture is not larger than the value given in Table 6.1 of EN 1992-4! For larger diameters of the
clearance hole see section 6.2.2 of EN 1992-4!
