1. Hard Lock Program Installation
(1) 2 files appear when hdd32 folder is opened

(2) Execute hdd32.exe file. The following window pops up.


- Follow the below mentioned procedure

Select U.S.English and then click 'OK' button

(3) Insert Hard Lock Key in PC USB Port

* NOTE : If you don't insert Hard Lock Key before LGMV main program execution, below error
message will appear.

2. Installation of Main LGMV Program


(1) Select LGMV_TOTAL5.x

(2) Execute LGMV_TOTAL5.x.msi file. The following window pops up.

- Follow the below mentioned procedure

The installer will install LGMV_TOTAL5.x in the following folder.

Click 'Next' button

The installer is ready to install LGMV_TOTAL5.x on your computer.

3. Port set-up(Using Method : PRCTFE0 – this is old model)


• If You use PRCTFE1 then Refer PRCTFE1 Manual in this CD
LGMV 5.x Program will be operated correctly when it is connected COM1
Serial port : COM1 port only

In case that there is not RS232 Serial port in your notebook, use USB port of your PC.
Refer to '(2) Setting the USB port as the serial port' on page 14.

System Overview In case of RS 232 Serial PORT In PC


PRCTFE0 connection should be done as the above picture and it would be connected to the main
PCB connector of outdoor unit.

To check COM1 port, follow the below procedure

Select 'Start' -> 'System' -> 'Control Panel' then you can see and choose the 'System' icon in 'Control Panel'

Select 'Hardware' in 'System Properties' window

Select 'Device manager' and then 'Device Manager' window appears.


Then select 'Ports(COM & LPT)' in 'Device manager' window

Select 'Communication Port', click right button of your mouse,


and choose 'Properties' as shown above
Select 'Port Settings' in 'Communication Port' window and click 'Advanced' button.

Check 'COM1' port and click 'OK' Button

(2) Setting the USB port as the serial port

PRCTFE0 : Additional purchase

* NOTE : Purchase 'USB to 232 Serial Converter' by yourself.(Local sourcing)

System Overview in case of using USB-Serial converter in PC


PRCTFE0 connection should be done as shown above and it would be connected to main
PCB connector of the outdoor unit.

- Insert the USB-Serial converter into the USB port.


You can see the below window and setup the program.
Follow the below mentioned procedure.

Click 'Next' button at 'Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard'.

Select 'Search for a suitable driver for my device', and then click 'Next'.

Select 'CD-ROM drive,' insert the installation CD, and then click 'Next.'

Select the registration information by selecting 'My computer' at the desktop and then click the right
button of the mouse.
Select the device manager from the hardware of the registration information and select 'USB to Serial
Converter' at the port as shown at the below figure

Select 'USB to Serial Converter' and click right button of your mouse and choose ʻProperties'.

Select 'Port Settings' in 'Communication Port' window and click 'Advanced' button.

Check 'COM1' port then click 'OK' Button

1. The initial dialog box appears every time by clicking the short cut
button of LGMV on the desktop.

2. Select 'Air conditioner type', 'The combination of outdoor unit',


ʻsite Infoʼ, 'Refrigerant type' and ʻPortʼ then click 'OK' button.
- If the Air conditioner type and the combination are not chosen correctly, selection button will be
deactivated.
- Select IDU on ʻSelect Place to LGMVʼ, if monitoring LGMV to connect at the communication slots
of the indoor unit and outdoor unit.
- If these options are not selected correctly, communication cannot be performed.
- Refer to ʻPort Set-upʼ of LGMV Module Manual in CD and Input correct COM port number on the
Initial Dialog Box.
- If there is no port or the port is being used, the communication may not be performed..??
- If the Air conditioner type and the combination are not chosen correctly, selection button will be
deactivated.
- Select IDU on ʻSelect Place to LGMVʼ, if monitoring LGMV to connect at the communication slots
of the indoor unit and outdoor unit.
- If these options are not selected correctly, communication cannot be performed.
- Refer to ʻPort Set-upʼ of LGMV Module Manual in CD and Input correct COM port number on the
Initial Dialog Box.
- If there is no port or the port is being used, the communication may not be performed.

If there are several USB ports, OR if you use the other port but ports being used,
: You may see some warning that is “Reinstall a USB driver.”
Caution
PLEASE make sure that the driver must be reinstalled.

* NOTE: LGMV_TOTAL5.x will be operated correctly when the PC COM port is set COM1
If below Error Message Pop-up the window then check the followings.
1) The serial cable is connected properly or not
2) Check the PC COM port is set to COM1 or not

1. MENU BAR
You can change the items set at the initial dialog box to the other items at the menu bar. You can set it
again.

1.1 Cycle View


- You can see cycle diagram on the basis of current system data
- Pipe layout color of cycle changes with accordance to characteristics of each cycle when
converting to the cooling/heating
- Possible to select indoor/outdoor unit using 'Select ODU' and 'Select IDU Gr' from the lower part.

1.2 Graph
- You can see information of system by graph.

① Select a tab what you want to check. (Pressure / Comp / Fan,


Temperature / etc, Indoor)
- It displays the data of all units
② Select indoor unit.
- It will be activated If you press “IDU” button in ①.
- Select one of the indoor Gr. in ③,
G1 : IDU1~16
System Graph G2 : IDU17~32
G3 : IDU32~40
- You can check total 40 indoor units.
- If you switch to another IDU Gr. in ③, you can change the indoor unitʼs
number of ②.

④ Drag and then check sensor value at that time.

⑤ Select window checkbox. The data of selected checkbox will be shown.

1.3 Control IDUs (If connecting to ODU main PCB)


It is possible that you can control IDU.
- Selected "ODU" in initial dialog : You can control only mode of IDU.
- Selected "IDU" in initial dialog : You can control mode, wind and temperature of IDU.

Cooling On

• Indicates the current condition of the current indoor unit (Cooling/Heating and On/Off)
• On/Off status changes as you press each buttons.
• Transmits the current changed details to indoor unit if only you press the 'Execution' button
• Select the operation mode and indoor unit after control panel is ready.
• If you want to change the operation mode, choose the opposite mode after confirming that control
panel is ready.

• NOTE: Before using the ʻControl IDUsʼ menu from menu bar, you must check whether if you
choose ʻODUʼ or ʻIDUʼ to select place to LGMV.
The choice at this time will show a different IDU controlling window later.

• NOTE: After Controlling IDUs with LGMV , you must reset Wired Remote controller

✔ LGMV indoor unit ON/OFF Function

• 8 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are operating in heating mode

Cooling On

• 8 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are partially operating in cooling
mode (5 indoor units are on)

OFF Heating On

• 32 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are partially operating in heating
mode (22 indoor unit are on)

Cooling On

Heating On

• In case of Sync you can select heating and cooling mode contemporarily.
• After selecting operation mode, you have to choose indoor unit.
• Selecting another mode
ex) Controlling indoor unit in cooling mode to heating mode.
- Identify the mode of the indoor unit.
- To select heating mode, you must choose "Heating" in "Select Mode".
- Push indoor unit button two times, the display is changed to heating mode, red color.
• To transfer control signal, you must click "Execution" button.

1.4 Control IDUs (If connecting to communication line)

■ Control IDUs (If connecting to communication line)


✔ Select ʻ Control IDUsʼ from the menu bar.

① You can confirm the status of IDU mode selection.


② If you select ʻ1ʼ, you can control from IDU 1 to IDU 16.
If you select ʻ2ʼ, you can control from IDU 17 to 32.
If you select ʻ3, you can control from IDU 33 to 40.
③ If clicking IDU buttons, it changes to yellow button.
This means that this IDU is chosen and activated.
ʻXʼ mean the disconnected IDUs.
④ You can adjust air-conditioner mode. (Cooling / Heating / Stop)
⑤ You can adjust wind mode. (High / Medium / Low)
⑥ You can increase the desired temperature set point.
⑦ You can reduce the desired temperature set point.
⑧ If you click this button, it will start operating according to your settings.

1.5 Making and Loading Data


- You can save or open air-conditionerʼs operating data with Microsoft Office Unit Info Excel data
file format into your PC.
- You can get its data value at each saving time

• NOTE : If model PRCTSL1 is being used then some data Saving Function will be partially
Limited (Some DATA are blocked internally)

4 Before selecting 'Start', you can input 'Saving Time', and 'Number of IDU' at saving option in menu bar.
The data will be saved only for the 'Saving Time'.

4 Saving interval is 30 seconds.


4 If you select 'Start', you can see 'Save as' window.
You can input file name, and click 'Save' Button, then data saving will be started.
4 If you want to stop to save data, please select 'Stop' in ʻMaking Dataʼ of the Menu bar.

4. Indoor unit Information window


- This window shows information of outdoor unit.
- Connectable Indoor unit capacities depend on outdoor unit composition (Max. 48 indoor units).
If you select the sync model in the initial setting, HR unit tab will be displayed at the right side of
“IDU Gr. selection tab”

- Indoor unit numbers are the order of auto-addressing. (Not related with
central control unitʼs physical address)

- If indoor units are connected, it will display the central control unitʼs

- If auto-addressing is performed correctly, it will be arrayed the number of


indoor unit identical with design draft.

- By confirming the number of communication times, you can check


whether if indoor/outdoor units are normal or not.

5. Save Location / Date display


• When saving data from menu bar, its saving location to your PC will be displayed in status bar at the
screen below.
• In right side of the saving location, current date will be shown.

① It displays air-conditioner type selected from initial dialog box or menu bar, and the number of
outdoor units composition. (When saving data to Microsoft Office Excel, it displays total saving time
and left time additionally)
② It displays the information of monitoring site.
③ Setting the number of indoor units connected to outdoor while currently monitoring.
(If you set more than actual number, it will affect communication speed)
④ It displays current communication status.
- Connection to outdoor unit: Both of the RxD and TxD will flicker.
- Connection to communication line of indoor/outdoor unit: Only RxD will flicker.
