In case that there is not RS232 Serial port in your notebook, use USB port of your PC.
Refer to '(2) Setting the USB port as the serial port' on page 14.
Select 'Start' -> 'System' -> 'Control Panel' then you can see and choose the 'System' icon in 'Control Panel'

Select 'Search for a suitable driver for my device', and then click 'Next'.

Select 'CD-ROM drive,' insert the installation CD, and then click 'Next.'

Select the registration information by selecting 'My computer' at the desktop and then click the right
button of the mouse.
Select the device manager from the hardware of the registration information and select 'USB to Serial
Converter' at the port as shown at the below figure

Select 'USB to Serial Converter' and click right button of your mouse and choose ʻProperties'.
Select 'Port Settings' in 'Communication Port' window and click 'Advanced' button.

If there are several USB ports, OR if you use the other port but ports being used,
: You may see some warning that is “Reinstall a USB driver.”
Caution
PLEASE make sure that the driver must be reinstalled.

* NOTE: LGMV_TOTAL5.x will be operated correctly when the PC COM port is set COM1
If below Error Message Pop-up the window then check the followings.
1) The serial cable is connected properly or not
2) Check the PC COM port is set to COM1 or not

1. MENU BAR
You can change the items set at the initial dialog box to the other items at the menu bar. You can set it
again.
<Indoor Unit>
- Indicates red color while
in heating mode and
sky-blue color while in
cooling mode.

Cooling On
• Indicates the current condition of the current indoor unit (Cooling/Heating and On/Off)
• On/Off status changes as you press each buttons.
• Transmits the current changed details to indoor unit if only you press the 'Execution' button
• Select the operation mode and indoor unit after control panel is ready.
• If you want to change the operation mode, choose the opposite mode after confirming that control
panel is ready.
• NOTE: Before using the ʻControl IDUsʼ menu from menu bar, you must check whether if you
choose ʻODUʼ or ʻIDUʼ to select place to LGMV.
The choice at this time will show a different IDU controlling window later.

• NOTE: After Controlling IDUs with LGMV , you must reset Wired Remote controller

• 8 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are operating in heating mode
Cooling On
• 8 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are partially operating in cooling
mode (5 indoor units are on)
OFF Heating On
• 32 indoor units connected to the current outdoor unit are partially operating in heating
mode (22 indoor unit are on)
Cooling On
Heating On
• In case of Sync you can select heating and cooling mode contemporarily.
• After selecting operation mode, you have to choose indoor unit.
• Selecting another mode
ex) Controlling indoor unit in cooling mode to heating mode.
- Identify the mode of the indoor unit.
- To select heating mode, you must choose "Heating" in "Select Mode".
- Push indoor unit button two times, the display is changed to heating mode, red color.
• To transfer control signal, you must click "Execution" button.

• NOTE : If model PRCTSL1 is being used then some data Saving Function will be partially
Limited (Some DATA are blocked internally)
4 Before selecting 'Start', you can input 'Saving Time', and 'Number of IDU' at saving option in menu bar.
The data will be saved only for the 'Saving Time'.

- Indoor unit numbers are the order of auto-addressing. (Not related with
central control unitʼs physical address)
- If indoor units are connected, it will display the central control unitʼs
physical address in ①

① It displays air-conditioner type selected from initial dialog box or menu bar, and the number of
outdoor units composition. (When saving data to Microsoft Office Excel, it displays total saving time
and left time additionally)
② It displays the information of monitoring site.
③ Setting the number of indoor units connected to outdoor while currently monitoring.
(If you set more than actual number, it will affect communication speed)
④ It displays current communication status.
- Connection to outdoor unit: Both of the RxD and TxD will flicker.
- Connection to communication line of indoor/outdoor unit: Only RxD will flicker.
