5 Detailed Description of the Process / Internal Process (Text, Images, etc.)

Welding engineering is the core business in Benteler Automotive. Except for few exceptions, welded connections are of significance for
the strength of our components. Due to that, a worldwide minimum standard has to be complied with, which is to minimize the risk for
Benteler, the employees and naturally the vehicle user. This minimum standard is described herein.

The requirements to the weld result from customer requirement, manufacturing requirements and product and quality pre-planning.
Determination of the requirements is undertaken by the project team.

The procedures and steps of planning are defined in the K2 procedure, and are therefore not repeated here. All descriptions and required
flow diagrams are included in the annexes.
