About Giraffe Chess Game

Giraffe chess is a variation of standard chess created by Indian students in 2012. It is played on a 68 square board with giraffes added that can jump 4 squares in an L shape. Players can win by checkmate, stalemate, or having their king reach the opponent's giraffe. Over 1000 tournaments have been held across India to promote the draw-less version of chess. The goal is to introduce giraffe chess across India by 2021 through educational camps.

ABOUT GIRAFFE CHESS GAME:

Giraffe chess is a new chess game innovated by Indian school


children Nadamala Bhagya Shree and Nadamala Sai Kiran Reddy in the year 2012. It is a
best draw-less game. It is played on 68 square board. Giraffes are added on each side to the
standard chess board. Giraffes jumps 4 squares in long L shape in 3+1 or 1+3 squares.
Giraffe chess game win by 3 ways:
1. Checkmate
2. Stalemate
3. Crowning: Whoever king reaches the opponent giraffe position is the game winner, it
is called crowning. King may reach any one giraffe square.
Giraffe chess game loose by 3 ways:
1. Revenge.
2. Resign.
3. Illegal moves.

GIRAFFE CHESS BOARD SETUP: It consists of total 68 squares. In that 34 are


black and 34 are white squares.4 giraffes are added to the standard chess board. Place
Giraffes one behind the king and the behind the queen as shown in Fig.
GIRAFFE MOVES:

Giraffe chess board consists of two jumping pieces one is Knight and
another one is Giraffe.

It can move three squares horizontally and one square vertically or three
squares vertically and one squares horizontally or one square vertically
and three squares horizontally. So totally it jumps in long L shape with 4
squares.

By its default position each giraffe protects one side horse and on other
side elephant.

Giraffes algebraic notation on the board is d0, e0 on one side and d9, e9
on other side.

English letter G represents Giraffe.

To popularize this new Giraffe Chess Game, starting with Proddatur Town, more than 150
awareness camps have been conducted in Schools followed by School Level Competitions
during the weekdays. And during the weekends, Every Sunday Town Level Giraffe Chess
Tournament is being conducted for School Children. Alongside Andhra Pradesh, In Chennai
of Tamil Nadu State so far 68 tournaments have been conducted. Overall 135 + tournaments
have been conducted with more than 1000 players, including Town level, District Level and
State Level Cash Prize Competitions.
Recently, Giraffe Chess board was presented to Vice President of India, Sri Venkaiah Naidu
by me.

The main motive of this game is to make chess a draw less chess game with the motto- Play
to Win. Giraffe Chess boards are available in different prices in all Sports Shops as well as in
Amazon. The feedback about this game is that people are happy to play this new draw less
chess game.We are driving passionately to store place in the hearts of people.
