Monster Ability Quick Reference


Armoured: Character has -10 DEX if attacking with a Ranged weapon
Attacks (X): Roll X times during Combat Step 4. Roll each hit for Damage
Dark Magic: Roll 1d10 at start of each combat round. 1-2: Monster +20 AV • 3-4: Monster +4 DEF • 5-6: Monster +2 DMG • 7-8:
Monster heals 1 HP for each damage dealt • 9-10: Character -2 HP
Death Touch: Character has -2 DEF
Disease: If Monster rolls 1 on Damage Die, shade 1 Disease Pip
Ethereal: Can only be damaged by Spells, Scrolls & Legendary Weapons
Fear: At start of every Combat Round, Test Fear
FEAR – Test: Int -15 [S: Attack as Normal] [F: Forfeit next attack] (Bravery)
Fire: If Monster rolls 1 on Damage Die, Test Avoid Fire
AVOID FIRE – Test: Dex -5 [S: No Effect] [F:-2HP] (Dodge)
Fly: Character has -10 STR if attacking with a Melee weapon
Freeze: If Monster rolls 1 on Damage Die, Test Avoid Freeze
AVOID FREEZE – Test: Dex [S: No Effect] [F: -1HP, -2 DEF Next Combat Round] (Dodge)
Large: Reroll all Monster's damage dice results of 1 & 2
Mindless: Ignore any Monster Reactions that say Escape
Pack: Combat Step 1 - Add +5 AV for each packmate alive beyond the first
Phase: Character has -10 STR and -1 DEX when attacking this Monster
Poison: If Monster rolls 1 on Damage Die, shade 1 Poison Pip
Resurrection: If Monster's HP <= 0, roll 1d10. On 1, restore to full HP
Regenerate: If Monster rolls 1 on Damage Die, heal 1HP instead of attacking
Split: When Monster's HP <= half, Attacks 2
Stun: When Monster deals damage, Test Dazed
DAZED – Test: STR-15 [S: No Effect] [F: Forfeit next attack, No Escape, cannot use belt slots] (Dodge)
Surprise: Before 1st combat round begins, Test Surprise
SURPRISE – Test Int-10 [S: No Effect] [F: Monster has free attack, then start combat normally] (Aware)
Tough: Each Monster HP requires 2 points of damage to remove.
Web: At the end of each Combat Round, Test Avoid Web
AVOID WEB–Test:Dex+20 [S: Attack as Normal] [F: Forfeit next attack, No Escape] (Dodge)
