INTRODUCTION
King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant was established a decade ago. It was
spearheaded by Mr. and Mrs. Henanger. They managed to grow the business far better
until they decided to go back abroad.
On April 17, 2019, King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant started its business again
and reintroduce its name in control of Mr. Nelson Briones and Mrs. Ester N. Briones.
This January 27, 2019, Mr. and Mrs. Briones wholeheartedly accepted the ten
grade 12 Technical Vocational Livelihood students from Magalong National High School
to undergo 80 hours of On-the-job-training at King’s Avenue.
Eating is one of life’s pleasure and pride so is cooking and serving good food to
others. A restaurant is a commercial outfit which specializes in the preparation of quality
food and to serve them to satisfy the costumer’s demands. Their motto is “Costumer are
our assets and satisfied customers are our source of wealth”. Restaurant do have state of
the art kitchens in their premises, where food items are prepared, following a fixed menu
to serve the customer. Most restaurants are also equipped with infrastructure facilities,
table settings, dining halls of various sizes to cater to needs of small gatherings to
grandiose banquets to suit customer demands and above all, trained personnel to provide
a satisfactory service.
A restaurant is an eating place where people are serve food, drinks and dessert for
their money. The food is served normally within a building even thought presently, one
can be given packed food to be eaten away. Food in a restaurant is prepared by chefs.
Sometimes, restaurant specialize in the kind of food they offer.
The term restaurant (from the French word trestaurer, to restore) first appeared in
the 16th century, meaning “a food which restore”, and referred specifically to a rich,
highly flavored soup. The modern sense of the word was born around 1765 when a
Parisian soap-seller named Boulanger opened his establishment. Whilst inns and taverns
were know from antiquity, these were establishments aimed at travelers, and in general
locals would rarely eat there. The modern formal style of dining, where customers are
given a plate with the food already arranged on it, is known as service a la russe, as it is
said to have been introduced to France by the Russian Prince Kurakin in the 1810s, from
where it spread rapidly to England an beyond.

REFLECTION ON MY IMMERSION

This 80 hours of Immersion in King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant is helpful and a
meaningful experience during senior high school days, it is amazing you can gain more
knowledge, ideas, insights and background in choosing what course you are going to take
college. This experience helps me on how to responsible, a better person and a successful
professional someday.

I’m happy because I assigned to be a leader to take care my group and helping there what
can I do and what the things that they can’t manage so to be a good leader I experience
all things that doing a regular worker of the KING’S AVENUE HOTEL AND
RESTAURANT.

The lesson that gained is how to be tough, have perseverance in doing the activities that
my teacher assigned. Even if you feel tired and your neck is aching, you still need to act
that you are okay. However, it is still enjoyable because you can talk with the people
around you can feel happy, can laugh about their doings and knowing who their crushes
are. Sometimes I need to be like them, so that I can mingle with them. It is the best way
to communicate them and to know what they like.

I would to thank to the owner and to our supervisor to keep me a good work and to the
staff of Kings Avenue to support and to advice how to be a worker of the restaurant and
how to be keep clean and how to manage to be a leader of our group.

REFLECTION ON MY IMMERSION

Two weeks long Immersion at King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant isn’t a simple task to
do. I have to wake up early and prepare myself and arrive there 8:00 am.

Having knowledge in taking orders and serving guest’s order really helped me a lot to do
my job easily.

I felt random emotions when I was there. Feeling tired because of the task need to be
done, and feeling excited at the same time because of the heart-warming compliments
that the regular workers and the manager told us. It was a great pleasure to immerse with
people who are knowledgeable about the track we are studying. They correct our
mistakes and taught us how to do the task in a proper way like cleaning the hotel room
and the comfort room.

This Immersion taught me to be more responsible and be self-conscious as I do simple

make-ups to be more presentable every day. It also let me realize that work will be a
burden if you stress yourself by not wanting what you are doing so , I let myself enjoy
while I’m in the training, it motivated me to do the task efficiently. Big thanks to the
regular workers who became our friends, ‘’ates’’ and ‘’kuyas’’ who guided and helped us
along the way.

So, all in all, my experience was exciting, enjoying and quite memorable.

REFLECTION ON MY IMMERSION

Sometimes I am asking myself how prepared I am to face the real world. But since this
opportunity came, to have a training at King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant for ten days
I become thankful because it help me to find out the answer I am looking for.

Two weeks of Immersion at King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant has been a tiring day
and not an easy day because you need to wake up early in the morning, you have to do
your task there even if you’re tired, but at the same time I can feel happiness because the
staff there is friendly and willing to share what they have learned. There, they trained me
or they help me to enhance my knowledge like on how are you going to take an order,
how to serve the guest, to communicate with them with all of your respect (not only for
the guest but also with the staff), they also teach me and my companion to the tasks in a
proper way like cleaning the hotel rooms (to be presentable) and the comfort rooms.

Ten days of training there is a big help to develop my personality and to enhance my
knowledge. It also help me to prepare myself for more opportunity and tasks to do in the
future, it also give me an unforgettable memories while I’m in the training. Learning isn’t
always inside the four corners of the classroom most often learning can be found outside
the real world, and I have proven that since I became a part of OJT’s.

REFLECTION ON MY IMMERSION

This 80 hours of immersion is very helpful and meaningful, having an immersion was a
really good experience. How does it feel to be in a work place. I was so fortunate enough
to have immersion at the restaurants because one of my curiosity is what are the feelings
having a work at the restaurant and I was admitted sometimes it is having because most
of my time was wasted by sitting and waiting for nothing WHY? Because their a time
that our co-workers not a given a task it always the same task in other day. But in the end
it was so amazing because entered the restaurant and the other customers who violence
and rules.

And happy because I met a new people. After of the immersion I have realized
something that will really be use full for my future. First be patience when it comes to the
task to giving to you even if you really bored and waiting for nothing. Second day respect
your supervisor, boss even the co-workers because they should be treated well with you
and it is one of the way to build a good relationships to my boss and co-workers and the
other costumers and guest.

Third day be always on time at the work. And lastly always do you best whatever the task
will assign you in the work. Always treasure the things that we experience in our life
even its good or bad because experience is the way to learn how to handle the problem.
They always teach us lesson to test our fortitude and we can really use this in the future.

REFLICTION ON MY IMMERSION

What they say is true, once you get to enjoy the things you’re doing, you wouldn’t notice
time as it files by. Our two week stay at the King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant taught
me a lot of values that could not only help me Now as a student but also as an employee
in the near Future.

One of the main reason why on-the-job-trainings became a part of our school’s
curriculum vitae was to prepare students to have an immersive experience of what it is
like to be in an actual work place in lined with their academic strands.

In addition to that, I also learned the value of Punctuality. Arriving on time shows one’s
personality in the ever evolving 21st century workplace.

In conclusion, being a part of on-the-job-training opened my eyes to new perspective. I

now knew things I never throught I could know if not for my participation in this
curriculum vitae (OJT). To be a part of such, is an opportunity that promotes one’s
growth as an individual. It may be exhausting, tiring to say the least, but it sure is a one of
a kind experience.

REFLICTION ON MY IMMERSION

Those days are not easy, we’ve been into struggles and of course a lot of adjustments. My
first day brought me to reality that I must be brave and not ashamed of myself to talk to
other people. It helps me to build my self-esteem that everyone needs.

Everyday was exhausting but I need to continue in order for me to acquire the
knowledge I must have after these immersion and in order for me to be ready in the
future as food and beverage services assistant. I admit that I am not good and having
communication to others especially if I’m going to use English language as the medium,
but I must be used to it.

Those tiring days made a lot of memories that I will cherish ‘til I become old memories
that I made together with my second family and it is priceless.

conclusion being apart of on-the-job-training opened my eyes to new perspective to part
of such is an opportunity

Being one of the interns at King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant made me realize how
their enterprise work and the impacts they gave towards the community. My ability to
Learn how to communicate with people in order to achieve a common goal was further
reinforced, all owing to my experience as an intern in King’s Avenue.

All in all my experience is so memorable.

REFLICTION ON MY IMMERSION

Work Immersion is not easy, you need to consumed 80 hours in 10 days to passed this
subject.

First, second and third day is a very hard day because you need to face your own fear and
overcome it. We assigned first in dinning. I felt nervous in that day and accidentally I
dropped one glass. Fourth and Fifth day is not that hard day we assigned at hotel/rooms.
Sixth and Seven day we assigned at kitchen and I think that was the exciting part at all.
Eight, nine and ten day is just like past day.

King’s Avenue taught me to become more responsible one. I learned more about
comrade, you need to be more socialize and also presentable. Working is not simple, we
experience tiredness, pressured and nervous especially when you in front of the costumer,
you need to be patient at all the time. And lastly of course I enjoyed staying at King’s
Avenue in ten days, having conversation and sharing corny jokes with the regular
employee they give us tips regarding work. I am thankful because I experience that ten
days work immersion and because of King’s Avenue Hotel and Restaurant I learned so
much.

REFLECTION PAPER

When I started as a On the Job Training (OJT) student in KING`S AVENUE HOTEL
AND RESTAURANT located at Sadsaran Street, Poblacion, Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
On the first day we have our orientation first by the manager of restaurant named Sir
Jham, at first I`m feeling nervous because I`m afraid to commit a mistake like if i drop
the glass, plates while I’m serving it but then in the next day i feel comfortable of what
we have doing. They teach us and divide us into three groups and in every two days
there’s a rotation to clean the areas that assign to us we will make sure that we will finish
task or what we are doing quickly and carefully.

We also help each other when we finish the every task that they assign to us because
unity is the best way to quickly complete the work then we socialized with the regular
employees talk to them when we don’t have costumer, having conversation and shared
corny jokes. In conclusion, i realized that working is not simple. We experience the
pressure tiredness and being patient but it’s okay because we learned and they gave us
some tips that will help us in the near future. I’m very thankful because use enjoy the to
days work immersion at KING’S AVENUE HOTEL AND RESTAURANT.
