All about ThinVNC 


 
ThinVNC is a VNC server for remote desktop access. After you install and configure the server, 
users can access the PC desktop through any HTML5 browser.  
 
 
Server Requirements​:   
A server machine running a Windows OS is required.  
 
 
Client Requirements: 
There’s no need to install a particular client software on the user side, so we define it as a 
clientless desktop sharing solution. 
 
The remote PC can be accessed from any HTML5-compliant web browser such as Chrome, 
Firefox, Safari, Opera, IE or Edge.  
 
Users can access a remote PC from any computer or mobile OS; no additional plugin or 
installation will be required on the client side (web browser).  
 
 
Does it require VNC? 
No. The name may lead to confusion, but we think is pretty descriptive though. ThinVNC does 
what any VNC software does (desktop sharing), but it’s “thin” (no client needed). 
 
 
Does it require Microsoft CALs? 
No. It relays on a proprietary protocol.  
 
 
Are there any updates/support for the version stored at SourceForge? 
No.
