theory Y)
Theory x support role culture because in theory x
assumption that people are naturally lazy, want to
avoid work as much as possible, do not wish to take
responsibility, have no ambition and prefer to be
supervised and In Role Cultures possess established
formal rules and procedures and a defined,

understood and enforced organizational hierarchy.
Every individual is accountable for something or the
other and has to take ownership of the work assigned
to him. Thus they must be forced and directed to
work and this can be done through a controlled
authoritative.

number of characteristic assumptions in which
autocratic leadership style, close supervision and the
hierarchical principle are the key elements. In power
culture the subordinates have no option but to strictly

follow their superior’s instructions and . All lines of
communication lead, formally or informally, to the
leader. The employees don't have the freedom to
express their views or share their ideas on an open
forum and have to follow what their superior says.
Theory Y facilitate people culture because Theory Y
is that of integration: individuals can achieve their
own goals by also focusing their efforts on the

The person will be using their own expertise to
complete he task. There is no hierarchy, and the
organisation only exists to serve the interests of
those within it. Examples include barristers,
architects, doctors and surgeons. A doctor is his own
boss and completes the work at his own pace,
without being told what to do. He would have
complete control and there would be nobody above
him to make decisions or influence him.
Theory Y support because in theory Y individuals

have different skills to use in the project. No one has
a greater position over anyone in this type of culture
as people will have different skills to use together in
order to get the project completed. The task is key,
instead of the individual or rules. Individuals have
more freedom and flexibility, where they can get
their tasks completed without being told what to do
constantly. While doing the tasks, personal power
can be released by each person so that the outcome
of the project will be even better.
