They join language institutes to improve their skills and obtain TOEFL certificates to help with future careers. 2. This is seen as a problem caused by the incompetent teaching system at the Faculty of Languages, as it does not make students fluent in English. 3. The study will present suggestions to develop the Department of English's program to be sufficient for studying at institutes and passing the TOEFL test.

The students of Department of English, Faculty of languages,
being weak at the language skills, try to improve their language
skills by joining institutes. Some of them pursue the studying there
to have the TOEFL certificate which they believe is more useful for
the working life. As a result of that, we consider all of that as a
problem caused by the incompetent system of teaching in the
Faculty of Languages, for it is not enough for the students to be
fluent in English. In this study we will present some suggestions
which are expected to develop the program of the Department of
English in the Faculty of Languages to suffice for studying at
institutes to pass the TOEFL test.

The program of the Faculty of Languages focuses on the language

system rather than the language skills. Students who cannot join
institutes to compensate for the lack of the language skills, for the
may have work or may not have adequate money, may not be able
to improve their language skills according to the program of the
faculty. We wish that the head of the Department of English and
the teaching staff help us because it is a real problem and needs
to be looked through. We will make conversations between
students from Yali institute and students from the faculty of
languages, and we expect that the students of the faculty of
languages lack the speaking skills. We will also use a
questionnaire to collect results.

1- Qualifying the students to pass the TOEFL test and
any other test to pursue the high study.
2- Assisting the students to save the time and the money
instead of spending much time and money in the
special institutes.
3- Making our faculty superior to the other faculties in the
area.
4- Helping the students to graduate with vast language
