GRADUATE THESIS:
“Myth, Modernism and Mentorship: Examining François Fénelon’s Influence on James Joyce’s
Ulysses”
This thesis stresses the importance François Fénelon’s The Adventures of Telemachus had on
James Joyce’s Ulysses and suggests that rather than Bloom and Dedalus having a father - son
relationship, their interactions better fit a mentor - mentee paradigm.
Taught sections of College Writing. For two of these sections I taught students in the Navitas
program, which serves students from other countries.
Responsible for teaching College Writing I and College Writing II classes. Also responsible for
grading all papers submitted by students. Kept regular office hours and interacted with students
outside of class.
Designed and developed lesson plans that helped keep students actively engaged on the
assigned topics.
Helped to develop students’ writing ability.
Encouraged students to develop their public speaking skills by assigning an in class
presentation.
Strived to make learning an interactive experience in the classroom through group work
and class discussions.
After being injured, was responsible for weekend training of new soldiers in the areas of
Drill and Ceremony as well as military customs and courtesies.
Received an Involuntary Honorable Medical Discharge

Rudimentary understanding of Japanese.
Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Certified in fall 2016 at Florida Atlantic University under
the instruction of Professor Galin.
Served as a mentor to Lucas Wilson for the fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters with FSU's
Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program. Lucas' presentation was titled "A Study of
Virtual Reality in Literature." Met weekly with the student throughout the two semesters.
