Present tense

I/ we/ you/they + bare infinitive


She/ he/ it + bare infinitive + s, es, ies
Dipakai untuk menyatakan perbuatan yang
menjadi kebiasaan, atau menyatakan kebenaran
yang tak bisa di bantah.
1. I go to campus everyday.
2. The sun rises at the east.
3. I do not go to campus everyday.
4. Do you go to campus every day?
5. Does the sun rise at the east?
Present continuous tense

To be + verb ing
Dipakai untuk menyatakan perbuatan yang sedang
berlangsung, atau menyatakan perbuatan yang
bersifat sementara.
1. They are studying in the class now.
2. He is playing football.
3. They are not studying now.
4. He is not playing football.
5. Are they studying now?
6. Is he playing football?
Present perfect tense
I/ we/ you/they + have + verb in past participle
She/ he/ it + has + verb in past participle
Dipakai untuk menyatakan perbuatan yang sedang
terjadi pada waktu lampau tetapi masih ada
hubungannya dengan waktu sekarang, atau
menyatakan perbuatan yang sudah terjadi.
1. I have taught here since 2013.
2. Ann has read your letter.
3. John has traveled around the world.
4. My grandmother has lived at the same house for
twenty years.
5. Danny has not seen this movie.
6. Have you ever gone to Australia?
Present perfect continuous tense

I/ we/ you/they + have been + verb ing


She/ he/ it + has been+ verb ing
Dipakai untuk meyatakan perbuatan yang di mulai
pada waktu lampau dan masih berlangsung hingga
sekarang.
1. I have been working at this office for ten years.
2. She has been to Bali three times
3. We have been writing or reports.
4. We have not been writing or reports.
5. Have you ever been going to Australia?
Past tense

I/ we/ you/they
She/ he/ it + Verb in past tense
Dipakai untuk menyatakan perbuatan yang selesai di
masa lampau.
1. I learned English yesterday.
2. We didn’t go yesterday.
3. She bought a new camera last week.
4. He fought with his brother.
5. Did she go to school last month?
6. Did she come to your village last year?
Past continuous tense

We/ you/they + were + verb ing


I/ she/ he/ it + was + verb ing
Dipakai untuk menyatakan perbuatan yang sedang
terjadi di masa lampau, atau perbutan yang sudah
dimulai dan masih berlangsung ketika perbuatan lain
menyusul di masa lampau.
1. They were singing all day yesterday.
2. I was eating instant noodle at midnight last night.
3. When Mark came home, Marry was watching
television.
4. He were not doing his homework.
5. Was your father fixing his motorcycle?
Past perfect tense

Had + verb in past participle


Dipakai untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang
telah selesai sebelum suatu perbuatan lain terjadi
di masa lampau.
1. He had fallen before I helped him.
2. John had gone to the store before he went home
3. Ria had not gone home before she visited my
house.
4. Had Ria gone home before she visited my house?
Past perfect continuous tense

Had + been + verb ing


Di pakai untuk menunjukkan perbuatan yang
berlangsung terus pada waktu lampau.
1. When I came to Surabaya, he had already been
living there about five years.
2. George had been working at library for forty five
years before he retired.
3. The doctor had been examining the patient
thoroughly before he prescribed the medication.
Future tense

Shall/will + infinitive
Menyatakan perbuatan yang akan di lakukan pada
waktu yang akan datang.
1. Grandfather will post the letter.
2. I shall come at your house tomorrow.
3. He will not (won’t) sing if you laugh.
4. Will you help me to get the book?
