Dear Parents,
As per the guidance of Govt. Agencies vide circular/order no DCB (VIU)/TPT/2007, NO.F.1 (678)/CTB/School
Safety/2017/901 Dated 07-01-2017 and DC (ARU)/TPT/2013-14. Following are the guidelines for the private school cab
operators:-

1. The vehicle shall be registered under a separate series i.e. DL 1K.


2. The vehicle should prominently display the date of issue of certificate of fitness.
3. Speed governor in working condition (40 km/hr).
4. All such school cabs shall operate only on clean fuel. (ONLY CNG).
5. CNG Cylinder hydro test.
6. First Aid Box (Rule 66 of DMVR).
7. Fire extinguisher (Dry powder type).
8. Police Verification of the driver and vehicle owner.
9. Seating capacity not more than 1 ½ times (If the age of the students is below 12 years) as per seating capacity
shown in the registration certificate (RC).
10. The school cab shall display the board of 250 mm X 250 mm size with “SCHOOL CAB” Inscribed with bold black
letters on golden yellow background.
11. The vehicle shall have a carrier on the roof for storage of school bags.
12. The school cab shall have horizontal strip in the middle of 150 mm width, in golden yellow color on all sides.
13. The name, address and telephone of the permit holder shall be painted or firmly affixed to the school cab on the
rear exterior of the body in colors vividly contrasting to the color of the vehicle centered as high as practicable
below the window line in bold letters.
14. The driver shall be cleanly dressed and shall wear grey uniform with his nameplate and PSV (Public service
vehicle) badge.
15. No school cab shall be driven by a driver who does not hold a valid driving license for light motor vehicle
(Transport) category.
16. The vehicles shall carry a register of school children with name, father’s name, address of students and name of
school with telephone nos.
17. While on duty, the driver shall not be under the influence of drugs/ liquor. He shall also not ply video device in
the vehicle during duty hours.
18. The school cab shall not be driven by a driver who has been challaned or charged with the offence of over
speeding, drunken driving, or driving dangerously or the offences under section 279,337,338 and 304 of IPC.
