Maximum Power Transfer Theorem For AC Circuits Postlab Question/answers

The document summarizes an experiment on maximum power transfer for AC circuits. It includes questions about plotting graphs between power and load resistance, capacitance, and input frequency based on experimental data. It also asks for brief analysis of the relationships between variables in each graph and an explanation of the maximum power transfer condition that the load impedance equals the complex conjugate of the source impedance.

Experiment 8: Maximum Power transfer Theorem for AC circuits

Post-Lab Questions:
Q1) Plot the graphs between PRL vs Rload, PRL vs Cload and Pload Vs Input
Frequency from experimental data.
PRL vs Rload :

PRL vs Cload :

Pload Vs Input Frequency:

Q2) Give the brief analysis of each group about the relation between x axis
and y axis quantities.
Ans)
PRL vs Rload :
The power is increasing as we increase the resistance and reaches its maximum value
when the resistive part of RLoad is equal to 1k ohms which is also equal to the resistive
part of RS. The power then starts to decrease after reaching its maximum value for
values of RLoad greater than 1k.
PRL vs Cload :
The power is increasing for increasing values of CLoad and reaches it maximum value
when the CLoad produces a reactance which is equal to the complex conjugate of the
reactance produced by the RLoad . The power then starts to decrease after reaching this
value.
Pload Vs Input Frequency:
The load power, at first, is increasing when the frequencies are increasing till 16 kHz
where the power is maximum after that the power is decreasing.

Q3) Explain and drive the condition of maximum power transfer Z=Zth*.
Ans)
