Difference between 32 bit & 64 bit Operating System?

In computer an operating system bit instructions can process the input value to the
computer hardware (CPU) in 32 bit sequence or 64 bit sequence. If the CPU does support
64 bit sequence then an Operating system can run either 32 bit application or 64 bit
application depending on its version and its compatibility. Ex: windows Vista.
Intel Xeon, Intel Core 2, AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64, recent support hardware.

Fan inside a computer case used for cooling purposes, and may refer to fans that draw
cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside, or move air across
a heat sink to cool a particular component. The use of fans to cool a computer is an
example of active cooling.
The amount of heat produced by these components as a side-effect of normal operation
has also increased. These components need to be kept within a specified temperature
range to prevent overheating, instability, malfunction and damage leading to a shortened
component lifespan.

4 .WHAT IS BIOS?

In computing, The Basic Input – Output System (BIOS) [1],Also known as the system
Bios. The Bios is Booth firmware , Designed to be the first code run by a PC when
powered on .
The initial function of the Bios is to be identify, test, And Initialize system devices such
as the Video Display card, Hard disk and floppy disk and Other Hardware. This is to
prepare the machine into a known state, So that software stored on computable media can
be loaded executed and given control of the PC [3]. This process is known as booting or
booting up, which is short for boot strapping.

The BIOS is a very crucial component of any personal computer since its the BIOS's
primary responsibility to control how hardware works with the operating system.

The BIOS controls the proper setup and configuration of hard disk drives, floppy drives,
memory, and other related devices at the hardware layer. It also has some control over
how an operating system interacts during boot up.

If you add additional memory to a system, the BIOS handles all updates and counts the
quantity of memory installed and will return an error code, if a problem exists.

The BIOS also sets all configuration items required for the memory to function properly
in the system, including speed and voltage requirements.

5 What is an OST File ?

An OST file (.ost) is an offline folder file in Microsoft Outlook. Offline folders make it
possible for the user to work offline and then to synchronize changes with the Exchange
server the next time they connect. The ability to work offline is useful in environments
with limited or unreliable connectivity.

Another type of file in Outlook is the PST file, which is simply stored on the client or a
server other than the Exchange server.

6.What happens when pst file is corrupted?

Outlook doesn’t open.

7.What is Group Policy?

Group Policy Setting of rules for computers and users in Windows Server 2003
and Windows 2000 Server. Group Policy is able to store policies for file
deployment, application deployment, logon/logoff scripts, startup/shutdown
scripts, domain security, Internet Protocol security (IPSec), and so on.

1. What is the difference between 32 and 64 bit operating system?

A 32 bit processor is faster than a 64 bit processor, 64 bit processors are very commonly
used that you can find it easily in any home pc but the main difference is the hardware
you are having on your machine. For 32 bits there isn't any need of any wide main bus to
carry 32 bits at a time but for 64 bits its must that you should have a wider bus to carry
64bits.

The main difference between a 32 bit and 64 is that 32 bit system has 4gb(gigabytes) of
space for addressing means that the 32 bit system has a limit of 4GB RAM to process
data where as the 64 bit operating system has 2^64 bits of space to address and supports
16 hexabytes of RAM to process data.

In simple words an operating system of 32 bit has a 4GB limit to process any data
depending upon the sizes of files and RAM.

5. What are POSTS?

BIOS Power-On Self Test (POST)

When power is turned on, POST (Power-On Self-Test) is the diagnostic testing sequence
that a computer's basic input/output system (or "starting program") runs to determine if
the computer keyboard, random access memory, disk drives, and other hardware are
working correctly.

If the necessary hardware is detected and found to be operating properly, the computer
begins to boot. If the hardware is not detected or is found not to be operating properly,
the BIOS issue an error message which may be text on the display screen and/or a series
of coded beeps, depending on the nature of the problem. Since POST runs before the
computer's video card is activated, it may not be possible to progress to the display
screen. The pattern of beeps may be a variable numbers of short beeps or a mixture of
long and short beeps, depending on what type of BIOS is installed.
