B2. Answers: (a) The total energy released in the two-step process is 968
kJ/mol. The energy available for electricity production via H2 conversion to
H2O is 4097 kJ/mol. The energy released by combustion is 5065 kJ/mol. (b)
The process becomes only marginally feasible as the total energy released in
the two-step process is 27 kJ/mol. (c) The temperature is 760 K.
B3. Answers: (a) main turbine 44.2 kg/s and auxiliary turbine 3.6 kg/s, (b) 515
kg/s, (c) 23.6% and (d) 66 MW or 51.7%.
