Final Design is the design that have been finalized and has been chosen as the design
that will be fabricated. The final design can be produced by using CATIA software which is a
CAD program that help in the designing process of the product. By using CATIA, the
visualization of the product can be able to produced and certain analysis can be done on the
product. The process in developing the final design must undergoes certain process and
discussion. It might change based on the situation and the limitation that might occur.
The final design that been initially been chosen is Figure 1. The design has been
designed so that it can be able to operate automatically since it consisted electronic component
such as sensor, Arduino and motor. The design able to compact trash to reduce the size of the
trash and able to put more trash compare to other existing product. The design has been
chosen to be fabricated as prototype based on the discussion that has been done from team
member and also the supervisors.

Figure 2: The current design of the dustbin
Figure 2 shown the final design that currently has been chosen and will be fabricated.
The decision to change the design is because of the current situation that is not suitable to
produce the design of Figure 1. Since Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) has been initiated
by the government, certain limitation and problem occur as it makes the fabrication process
cannot been continue using the initial process and design. The change of the design has been
done to fulfill the criteria and make it easier to be fabricated based on the situation. Eventhough
the design has been changed, the functionality and the design are still been used and
maintained.
Figure 3: shows the current compactor section Figure 4: shows the initial compactor section
The mechanism of the design which is compacting has been maintained as the
compactor press the trash to remove the trash water and increase the capacity of the trash that
can be put into the dustbin. PKP has make change on the operation of the dustbin from
automatic to manual since it hard to get the certain part as certain company cannot be operate
for now. The use of electronic component has been removed from the initial design as the
company that provide this part cannot operate fully since it been limited by the PKP operation.

2.0 Materials and Size Details
For previous prototype production, we chose to use aluminum, metal square bar and mild
steel plate as the base material. But after some changes the management has made in the
current situation, changes need to be made to ensure the Bokashi Bin project is completed.
The materials that can be used in the fabrication of the prototype are existing items, or items
that are easily found in the surrounding area. We are also advised not to buy items such as iron
in stores because these unacceptable situations will make the machining process difficult.
Therefore, materials such as boxes, paper and plastic can be used as the basis for fabrication
of prototype. To combine all the parts we create, we prefer to use adhesives such as glue and
cellophane tape to attach all the parts.
After discussions with team members and supervisors, our decision was to use the materials
listed below as substitutes for items that are currently unavailable:

Size changes need to be made to ensure the Bokashi Bin project can be implemented more
easily by using readily available materials at home and at college. The size reduction allowed by
management is only 50%, after discussion, we decided to change our Bokashi Bin design
specification to the following:

4.0 Fabrication of Prototype
1. Filter
- Allow the fluid from the rubbish pass through to ensure the dry rubbish can be obtain.
Besides, it able to reduce bad smell from the wet rubbish.
- Size: 198 x 198 mm, material: box
Figure 5: Filter
2. Drawer
- Function as to accommodate and collect rubbish fluid. After the fluid has full, it can
be throw away by sliding it out from the dustbin body.
- Size: 100 x 50 x 198 mm, material: box

- To support and give the rubbish moveable
- Size: 80 mm diameter, material: box

6.0 Next Planning
- In order to complete our bokashi bin project, a plan has been created to ensure that
each work can be completed within a given time frame. After drafting every change that
will be made to Bokashi Bin, the fabrication process will begin using the materials listed
above.
- Fabrication for prototype will be done before week 9, as shown in Figure 9 Fabrication of
prototype starts in week 5 with a collection of materials that will be used to produce
prototypes.
- For the process of fabrication, can refer figure 10

- Progress after the completion of this prototype was placed on the Gantt Chart as in
Figure 9. The process of fabrication of the prototype is given greater emphasis as this
process will make our direction clearer to explain all the functions that can still be applied
to our Bokashi Bin which are different from the original idea and more specification can
be listed due to the changes that have to be made.
