Jurassic World

Jurassic World is a film created in 2015 its storyline is about how a theme park, is built on the original site
of Jurassic World, it creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes
containment and goes on a killing spree in the park putting many people’s lives in danger.

Pre-production helped in many ways one way is Storyboards, these will help you develop and produce
the movie in a much quicker and smooth way, when creating a storyboard you get to see shot by shot the
different scenes which will be created, when looking through the storyboard which is your rough draft,
you get to see if anything needed to be changed and see what different edits should be included in the
shot. When making a storyboard this will decide if the concept, which you have decided to create, will
work, if it doesn’t work then they can plan weather the course needs to be taken a different way. When
using the storyboards it helps the director and producer film the movie quicker so the production will be
on time for the release of the movie. Storyboards create notes to develop like what media should be used
in each shot, this gives an idea of how the movie will flow and the order it will appear in, when people
create a storyboard this is there envision on what the movie is going to be like in the future. When
shooting the movie without a storyboard you are wasting time in figuring out what shots to shoot as this
is therefore wasting the production company money, as if they run overtime they have to make peoples
wages longer as they are all working overtime. Storyboards will identify an era at an early stage this will
include the media and narration, which they need to fix, this saves effort and cost and this could disrupt
the production stage. Storyboards are created by designers who are artists and have a profession in
drawing they will draw out a sketch of what the movie shots are going to be like then give them to the
director and the crew and they can change any parts in which they think are not going to work. This helps
to imagine the movie and how it is going to look at its final piece. This will guaranteed a greater success to
the movie due to it being more prepared and having a greater chance of success with the audience as will
be all planned out and hardly any mistakes will be made, this film can be made perfect by the director as
they can make as many changes with a storyboard and it’s not cost effective to the company. The film will
be then realised sooner to the cinema, which will gain them more money, as people will not be waiting as
long. The person who made this storyboard is Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver these are the writers of
Jurassic world, it helps production when writers write the storyboard because they know the story very
well. They have done planet of apes, which is a very popular movie and was very successful. They help a
lot with this film as they write the story, which is the most important part of making the film

scenes in more easy and accessible for them. The green screen is the main use of equipment for this
movie as this is what makes the visual effect so some actors if they are in the scene with the green screen
will film a scene with it this will then be edited in the movie later and they will choose the background
which fits best with it. They are used because some locations of filming a movie are not possible to do so
by having a green screen make filming easier and the film company aren’t wasting money on moving the
set to a different country. Using a green screen in shots where it’s not real and it’s not possible to do, in
Jurassic World the dinosaur you need to film with a green scene, as they will be interacting with humans
as they have fighting scenes with them. This will help the movie become more successful in box office due
to it being at a higher performance and also being so realistic that you think its filmed somewhere in this
country, these types of movies do well in box office as the audience find these films fascinating and
thrilling to watch, as the use of editing in these films is a very high standard. For Jurassic park there were
46 special affect individuals that had created the film whereas in Jurassic world they are 86. Jurassic park
used 307 indicial, which made the visual affects team, in comparison to Jurassic world, which had 702,
individual. Also the camera which this filmed use is a Arriflex 435, Panavision Primo Lenses, this type of
camera is high quality and can get all the different angles to shoot the movie. These types of movies have a
very high budget as they know all this filming and editing will cost a lot, but the production know that the
box office will be big so they know that they will gain a huge profit from these movies.

The props which are used in Jurassic World are mainly the Dinosaurs they are the main prop for this
movie as this is what the movie is based on, when designing the props to be used in the movie a great load
of detail has to go in into designing them as fine little details have to use to make them look realistic they
design this props on websites like pro desktop and sketch and also CGI these are programs which can be
looked back to at any time and be edited by a range of people, these scenes where filmed in Hawaii inside
a studio. Filming in the studios will allow the cost of the film to go down so they have more money to
spend on other products for the film to make it better. Also you can get peoples advice on what could be
improved to make it look better it’s also more time efficient as the process is much more advance then
drawing your prop design out, using these website allows you to see the different materials of which it
can be made out of and all colours you would like it to be. If these props are done before the production
has started then it will be ahead of schedule and they will know what types of scenes they will be used in
and if any changes are needed they it will be sorted out before they are used in a certain scene. This
would have been organised in advance on a production schedule and a call sheet reference this is needed
to keep the crew and cast organised. All the props in this movie influence the success, as they will bring
the film together as the entire props link to the genre of the movie and how it all forms together. The
camera that is used in these movies is Arriflex 235, which is used in most of the scenes for this movie. This
camera is lightweight so easy for the cameraman to hold and move around. The dinosaurs were designed
by clay Marquette’s these were then moulded and casted in fiberglass and painted not only to show
Spielberg what the creatures would look like in three dimensions, but also to serve as the models for the
computer generated dinosaur effects created by Phil tippet in conjunction with ILM and Dennis Muren.

Risk assessments;

When making the movie Jurassic World you have to conduct a certain amount of risk assessment while
you’re on set, this therefore prevents any injuries happening, as this film is an action film so a lot of stunts
are performed. There where 17 stunt man-helping film this film they did scenes in which the main actors
weren’t able to complete. So preventing these injuries they have to warn cast and make them aware of the
situation of which can happen, when performing these stunts they have to prepare them so they know
how to be safe when performing as if any injuries happen then this will bring production behind schedule
this then will cost the film more money, as if they actor or actress would be seen to get injured in the
movie then they can find a way to prevent this happening, as in these scenes there are many complicated
and complex ones like fight scenes which will involve a lot of movement, so finding a way to protect them
while it’s happening will make the film more successful in the long wrong. All these procedures need to be
done before the film is shot this is so no accident happen to anyone on set like the cast and crew as well. If
some scenes are filmed outside you have to make sure on the days of filming that the weather is good as if
it’s raining then injuries could happen like people slipping over, so making people wear suitable shoes on
set this will prevent it, if they are filming one day and it becomes extremely hot they have to make sure
that they have plenty of water on set and there is shelter from the sun this will prevent heat stroke from
happening as was filmed in Hawaii. By planning all of this will make production quicker and the film will
become more successful as less people will be injured. While Chris Pratt was filming he injured himself by
crashing the motorcycle he was riding and resulting him hurting his neck. This could therefore delay
production and make it lose money, as they have to rent out studios for longer and also pay crew and cast
more money for staying over time.

Location Reece’s:

The location for Jurassic World was filmed in many different places the main place of where it was filmed
is in Kualoa Ranch - Hawaii, USA this is where Dinosaur Island was filmed; this is where most of the
scenes are shot. When it comes to the inside scenes this were shot in universal studios as the company
which made this movie is Universal pictures this is where they would have the film crew doing all the
editing for the movie and were they cater to the crew and cast. This is where the equipment is stored so it
doesn’t get damaged from being outside so they have to protect it. When filming a film which is set
outside they need to find many locations which will be suited for the film, most of the filming is in Hawaii
as this country has a lot of rain forest as this is what the film is based around, they needed to find a plot of
land big enough to film the set in and for the green screen to be fitted there so they could make it as big as
possible. The cast and crew have to travel to these locations so this will be costing the production
company money, as they have to ship the equipment out as well. When filming in different parts of the
world they have to rent out areas to film in and also trucks and cars for the crew and cast to go in and also
the equipment, which has been made for the certain scenes. This will be taking out of the budget this will
cost the production a lot of money to do all of this, so this is why they have to make a big profit. The
location, which the shot in is great for filming as it, fits the description of the film very well.

The location added to the success of the film because its natural landscape due to the forest with loads of
trees as this what the film is based around due to it being set in a massive park. Hawaii is also known for
good weather so if they are filming outside in the summer they know its not going to rain which means it
wont bring the production behind. This is important for film as meant to represent a beauty of attraction
to show how characters would have been of or of attraction and its beauty

Script and Drafts:

A script is made for the cast and crew this is there for wrote by the screenwriter these use a script so that
they can learn their lines for the movie as this is what they are going to say when they are acting and its
used for the crew as well so they know if any mistakes are made by the actors so they can correct them
when they are filming or if they need to re shoot something, you can also change any parts which don’t fit
right in the movie and can change it for something else. The script writer Amanda Silver has written many
other films including animals one would be Planet of the apes which has done very well in box office For
Jurassic world they had around 2-3 people write the script, to have more than one person means that they
can get other people’s opinion on watch should be written having many ideas by different people will
make the film more successful. The script needs to be finalised by the director and producer to make sure
that it is the best that it can be. Making sure the script is done way before production has started so the
actors have time to learn their lines.

responsible for writing the cast there lines so they know what to say in the movie and this will help to the
success of the movie. The crew will have run through with the cast for the script so they know exactly
how they want them to act and how they should say all the lines and also if anything needs changing, so
they can get extra opinions.

Budget:

The budget for this movie is high because this is a blockbuster movie so they know they are going to get a
bigger profit. The budget for this movie was 150million and the profit they made was 1billion, which
means this movie was one of the most made movies in 2015. The reasons for the box office being so high
is because it’s a remake and new version of the Jurassic Park which was a very popular movie around 15
years ago, so everyone wanted to watch it as there has been no movie like that out for a long time, so it
was popular with everyone from around the world. The reason for the success in this movie is because
they made the quality of the movie very realistic and there hasn’t been one like this for a long time so the
audience were very interested on how they would make it similar to the original and this movie did very
well so they decided to do a sequel like Jurassic Park.

Casting:

The casting for this movie had to be well known actors and actresses this is because the fans of them will
want to see the movie in the cinema, so this will make the movie more popular before it has even been
released, the interviews that they do will make the movie better known to the public. The main actor in
the movie was Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Irrfran Khan all these people have
been in many movies they are worldwide actors and they all are known by different age groups, so this
means all ages will want to see the movie which will make the box office go up.

this movie the reason why it is a lot is because he
is well known for his projects that he does
and he is also in high demand for many
other movies this will add success to the movie
