At the end of this session, student should be able use:

 Drawing template and UNITS

 Basic drafting tools include line and circle.
 Command - Fillet, Join, Explode, Offset, Extend, Copy and Trim,
 Dynamic input, Ortho Mode, Object snap and object snap tracking.

Labwork_3: Draw the following geometry.

Instructions:

1. Open a new template acadiso.dwt. (we are using milimeters)

2. Use command UNITS and set the precision at 0.00.
3. Use command LINE to complete the basic shape (Dynamic input: ON, Ortho mode: ON). Key
in the length and use cursor to give direction left, right, up and down.

Start the first point at any point

4. Use command JOIN to join all the 12 lines. (All become 1 single object – polyline)
5. Use command FILLET with radius 10. (overall 10 corners)
6. Use command OFFSET with distance 10. (inside)

7. Use command EXPLODE to break the join at inner side. (Join vs explode)

8. Continue with OFFSET to develop the size of three pockets.

9. Use command EXTEND to add length of line 1 and 2 to meeting next object.

10. Use command TRIM and ERASE to complete the shape of the three pockets.
11. Draw a line from mid-point 1 with 70 unit length. (Object snap check!)

12. Draw a line from mid-point 1 with 70 unit length. (Object snap check!)
13. Continue and draw the rectangular shape.
