identifying the unknown and replacing it with a letter.
2. Accurately formulate word statements into mathematical PS
expressions through interpretations of specific words in the given
question.
AT
3. Solve for the unknown variable using the balance method to
eliminate terms and make the unknown the subject of the formula.
K/Aff
4. Recognize the application of forming equations in real world
situations through attempted questions and videos shown in the
lesson.

Teacher asks the class to state what the video was about. Speakers
Teacher states the topic is forming and solving algebraic equations.
SECTION 1 (Time: 20 minutes)
1
Content: Forming algebraic equations and solving for Associated
unknowns in the equation. Objective(s):
1-4
Teaching Points:
1. Identify the unknown variable in the question and represent it
with a letter.
2. If given a statement, form the mathematical equation with the
unknown by adding/subtracting/multiplying and equating
terms and solve.
3. If given perimeter put P = sum of distance around the shape to
form the equation with the given unknown.
4. Substitute P with the given value of the perimeter.
5. Solve for the unknown variable using the balance method.
6. State the solution to the question if asked for a specific side or
length.
