Learning Objectives

1. Pre lesson task 9 Memory Chain: Ask pupils to stand in circles.
2. Elicit from pupils what they did yesterday.
3. The first pupil in each circle gives the beginning of the memory chain sentence, for example: I went to the
Pre-lesson library yesterday.
4. The second pupil repeats the sentence and add another sentence: I went to the library yesterday and I played
football.
5. The next pupil adds a sentence and continue the chain.
6. Activity 1:
a. Display vocabulary flashcards on the board.
b. Play CD track 38 and have pupils point and repeat.
c. Say the words / phrases again in random order and gave pupils repeat and point.
Lesson delivery 7. Activity 2:
a. Play CD Track 39 for Activity 1 with the Student’s Book shut.
b. Pupils listen to the story carefully.
c. Ask pupils comprehension questions orally. (Assessment)
d. Ask pupils to read the text to check their answers. (Assessment)
8. Last Man Standing: Begin by tossing the ball at a pupil.
9. That pupil will shout a past tense verb and throw the ball to another pupil.
Post lesson 10. As each person catches the ball, they need to come up with another past tense verb.
11. If they repeat a verb that has already been said or can’t think of a new one within a few seconds, they are
out and must sit on the sidelines.
