2. A financial institution pays 7% interest compounded annually. How long


will it take for K5000 to grow to K10000.                A newly graduated
college student has K5000 invested at 8% compounded interest per annum
for four years.

i. Calculate the value of the investment at the end of four years.  

ii.   Compute the present value of receiving K10000 in four years at a discount rate
of 8%.
