IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL STUDENTS/TEACHERS OF GGSIPU


INCLUDING USS AND AFFILIATED COLLEGES

REVISED ACADEMIC CALENDER 2019-20

(Applicable to All Programmes other than Architecture and Programs under University
School of Medical and Paramedical Health Sciences)

i. Dispersal of Classes (Even Semester): 30.04.2020 for Theory and


6th May for Labs/Practicals)
ii. Summer Vacations: 07.05.2020 to 06.06.2020
iii. Conduct of End Term Examinations (Even Semester)
a) Final Semester for all Programs: 20.06.2020(Saturday) onwards
b) Other Semesters for all Programs: 01.07.2020 (Wednesday) onwards
iv. Commencement of Next Academic Session: 03.08.2020 (Monday)

Guidelines for Students


1. All students are required to continuously check the University website for all
announcements related to end term examinations.
2. The End Term examination shall be held either in pen and paper mode
(physical)/conventional mode by following Social distancing norms/online/blend of
online and conventional. The guidelines for online examination shall be notified
later. The below guidelines are for Physical modes only.
3. The duration for all the physical end term exams would be two hours.
4. The Max marks for all the end term exams would be same as earlier.
5. Exams can be kept on Saturdays and Sundays if so required.
6. The students are required to provide information regarding their back papers in
which they want to appear in the current even semester to their respective
Principals/Directors/Deans to complete the Registration Chart, who in turn will
forward the same to COE.
7. The draft date sheet for all programs would be uploaded on University website for
inviting any suggestions and changes, if required from students/teachers before
finalization. Final date sheet to be announced about 10 days before the start of the
examination.
If University doesn’t open till 20th July 2020 due to COVID19
a) For final semester students
Online examination in the MCQ mode would be conducted with the new date
sheet through AI proctored software /alternative tools. The lab examination
would also be held online using video meeting/conferencing tools by the
respective Department/College through COE. The detailed guidelines and
other related information shall be announced later but well in time.
b) For other semester students – No exams to be conducted.
If lockdown is not lifted by 20th July 2020, NO Exams to be conducted. The
students would be promoted to the next semester on the basis of marks in the
previous semester and marks in internal assessment (comprising of midterm test
score, viva, assignments, etc.) of the current semester in each subject.
Any student who wish to improve his result in any of the paper of the current semester
under this mode can appear alongwith Supplementary examinations of the same year,
whenever they are held.
Any student having any grievance in this matter may submit his grievance through the
Director/Principal/Dean of his Colleges/School, to the Grievance committee with a copy
to COE.

Regarding Summer Internships


The students of all the programs from other than final semester are required to
undertake summer internships during the period from May 7 till 20th June either in
companies or undertake online internships. Those students who are unable to get any
opportunity for online internships should inform the Deans/Directors/Principals of their
colleges regarding completion of the same as per University/UGC/AICTE guidelines latest
by 25th May 2020.

A separate notice would be issued for Programmes under University School of Architecture
and Planning and Programs under University School of Medical and Paramedical Health
Sciences.
