COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course describes the skills, knowledge and performance outcomes. Required to understand and
operate relevant IT systems that are used in the Hotel and Restaurant Industry. Topics covered include
folio systems for the front office Management; POS systems for Food and Beverage operations as well as
other computer and online systems for various departments such as reservations, finance,
housekeeping, marketing and the public relations unit.

VISION:
We envision God’s reign through a Christian institution of learning inspired by Methodist
tradition for the transformation of society.

MISSION:
To participate in the transformation of society through academic excellence and service
sustained by Christian values.

INSTITUTIONAL OUTCOMES:
Upholding and instilling the university’s core values such as competence, compassion, and
accountability.

Program Objectives:

1. to deliver scholarly and professional expertise in the travel and tourism industry guided by
Christian values and accountability and integrity.

2. To design a comprehensive academic program for our graduates to secure an entry level
position leading to supervisory, managerial and entrepreneurial, as well as pioneering roles in
the tourism industry.

3. to expose students in skills training and development in various sectors of the tourism
industry in coordination with accredited training agencies in the country.

4. to sustain and create new linkages both local and international thru collaborative research
works in tourism planning and community development, including extension programs.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Employ current and emerging technologies used in business and industry


2. Demonstrate business communication skills
3. Demonstrate an understanding of ethical and legal standards related to business technologies
4. Analyze emerging trends in business technologies
5. Demonstrate an understanding of applied business technologies
6. Utilize a reservation system or operation system used in Hospitality and Tourism Industry

CLASSROOM POLICIES:
 A student who is late for 15 minutes may be considered absent from the class.
 A student who incurs an excused absences of more than 20 percent of the prescribed number of
class or laboratory hours during the semester or term shall be marked dropped in the class list.
 A student who is unable to comply with any or all the academic requirements (quizzes, exam,
project, assign etc) shall receive a grade of incomplete. (inc)
 Student are required to attend classes in the prescribed university or college uniform for males
and females from Monday to Thursday, Friday is civilian day.
 The school I.D card should always be worn while in the university premises.
