Tourism And This course will equip students with the 3 3 THC 3
Hospitality necessary skills to develop actual marketing
Marketing campaigns for a business within the tourism
and hospitality industry. Emphasis is on the
analysis of the market, its competition and its
product, preparation of a financial budget and
the development of short-term and long range
strategies to achieve desired profit through
effective advertising, sales and an effective
public relations plan.

Destination This course takes a destination management
Management and and marketing approach to tourism and focuses
Marketing on the planning of destination experiences and
the management of sustainable destinations.
Students will identify and analyze in detail, how
these two principles have been integrated in a
variety of destinations to enhance global
competitiveness. Topics include the roles and
functions of governments and planning and
product development.
This course offers students the basics in 3 3 TPC 4
Crowd and Crisis identifying, preventing and controlling crisis
Management situations. Topics include the following; Crisis
management basics, from preparation to
training and compliance are discussed, as are
various stages of crisis and the need to establish
a crisis management team.

Heritage Tourism The course investigates the relationship 3 3 THC 4
between culture and tourism, by examining the
socio-cultural complexities of cultural
heritage tourism. Issues and trends in the
management of tangible and intangible
assets, such as interpretation,
globalization, cross-cultural values, impacts of
development, sustainable tourism are also
investigated.
Operations This course introduces students to the scope of 3 3 4TH year standing
Management in the hotel and tourism industry and the
Hospitality and organizational structure and operational
Tourism mechanics of how the departments within hotel
and tourism businesses function. Emphasis is
