Globalization has both advantages and disadvantages for culture and Filipino people. While it allows for increased prosperity, social justice, and global connectivity, it can also lead to the collapse of local cultures if traditions are not preserved. Globalization spreads media and information quickly worldwide, creating a general standard of life, but some closed countries may be disconnected from global awareness. Younger Filipinos are more engaged with foreign influences through media, but the rich culture of ancestors is now at a disadvantage and risks being lost. Globalization likely leads to cultural imperialism by massively impacting how people dress, speak, think and consume entertainment, potentially affecting their ideas about their own country and culture.

1. How media does affect the globalization process? Give an example?

 With media progressing so quickly across the globe, it's inevitable that vast cultures will
become more and more aware of the lifestyles and tendencies of various countries. The
globalization of media is creating a general standard of life for people everywhere as
they consume a wide array of media content through various media outlets.
 Like for example on how media now days helps on spreading reliable source of
information about the issue that the world is facing right now. They make people
informed and aware on what is happening like the situation on COVID-19. They make
people around the world updated and give some knowledge on how they can cope up
and prevent this kind of virus that kills many people.

2. Is it an advantage or a disadvantage in the culture of a certain place and in Filipino

people?
 For me it considered as both advantage and disadvantage because globalization is one
of the major topics and challenges of our time. It describes the process of the worldwide
increasing interconnection of economy, politics, culture and environment. This
compression affects individuals, society and institutions as well as countries. It can help
to increase prosperity, social justice and global networking in order to make the world
more equal. Despite the advantages of globalization, the negative side with all the
disadvantages should not be neglected. Because there is some certain place that was
not yet globalize country. Like for example the North Korea people were not allowed to
use different kinds of social media to connect around the world that is because they
have certain policies about it and for them the effects of media is not seen. And there is
an absence of connectivity and awareness on what happening around the world.
 We Filipino people are practicing more on traditional way of sharing and interacting to
other people and that was only before. And In line for to the existence of media and new
technologies, we Filipinos became has uncertainty on managing it because we value
our own culture and still preserving it. But in today’s generation, they are becoming
more engaged due to certain influences among other countries. We became connected
to others around the world. We can access awareness and updates on what happening
in this society.
But in considering our rich culture it is now a disadvantage because it can lead to
collapse the culture of the country that ancestor and traditional people and preserving
for.

3. Do you think globalization leads to cultural imperialism? Why or why not?

 Yes, I think globalization leads to cultural imperialism because it has a massive impact
which can affect everything from the way we dress, talk, our language, morals and
values to what we prefer to watch, hear and our ideas and perceptions about
entertainment, our country and the rest of the world.
