LESSON PLAN IN T.L.E.

– EXPLORATORY DRAFTING
Week 3: February 10 – 14, 2020

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Define various methods of lettering ,
b. Write the alphabet using their chosen method of lettering, and
c. value the importance of knowing different methods of lettering.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Exploratory Drafting
Sub-topic: Methods of Lettering
Materials needed:Visual aids, chalk and board
Reference: K to 12 Curriculum Guide T.L.E. Drafting

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings and Classroom Management
3. Attendance
B. Developmental Activities
a. Review of Past Lesson: Elements of Writing Guidelines
Ask the students what they have learned about the topic yesterday.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Show images of various letters to the students. Students will say their ideas
regarding the images.
2. Presentation of the Lesson

Day 1
Lecture: Using visual aid and powerpoint, discuss Methods of lettering –
Freehand
Lettering.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own.
Students will try to write their name using freehand lettering.

Day 2
Lecture: Using visual aid and powerpoint, discuss Methods of lettering –
Mechanical lettering.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own using various writing tools.
Students will try to write their name using mechanical lettering with the aid of
writing tools.

Day 3
Lecture: Using visual aid and powerpoint, discuss Methods of lettering –
Modern Drawing and Dimensions of Letters.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own.
Students will try to write their name using their knowledge about the
dimensions
of letters.

3. Application
Recitation. Some students will be called to define the following terms:
 Lettering
 Freehand Lettering
 Mechanical Lettering
 Modern Drawing
 Nominal Size in Dimension of Letters
 Center Line in Dimension of Letters
 Lettering Angle in Dimension of Letters

4. Generalization
Ask the students what they have learned from the discussion and activity.
Ask the students about the importance of knowing various methods of
lettering.
Ask them what part of lesson that needs clarification.

Day 4

IV. EVALUATION
Individual work. In T.L.E. portfolio, write the all of the letters of the English
Alphabet and the Arabic Numerals from 0 – 9 using your chosen method of lettering.

Example:

RUBRIC

EXCELLENT – 5 PTS
- Task is done creatively.
- Had written all the letters of the English Alphabet and all of the Arabic Numerals
from 0 – 9 using their chosen method of lettering.
- Neatly done and no erasures.
GOOD – 3 PTS
- Task is done.
- Had written most of the letters of the English Alphabet and most of the Arabic
Numerals from 0 – 9 using their chosen method of lettering.
- Done with only few erasures.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT – 2 PTS
- Task is done unprolifically.
- Had written only few of the letters of the English Alphabet and also few of the
Arabic Numerals from 0 – 9 using their chosen method of lettering.
- Many erasure.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Research and read about the Four Basic Letter Styles.
