Post-lab Questions:
Q1) Write the comparison between CE and CC amplifiers by
observing experimental results of experiment 9 and 10.
Ans) It is evident from our reading that the input impedance of the CC
amplifier is 7.74 kΩ which is almost double than that of CE amplifier which
has an input impedance of 3.44 kΩ. But the output impedance of the CC
amplifier is just 20 Ω which is very low as compared to 2.541 kΩ which is
the output impedance of the CE amplifier. Another difference between the
amplifiers is that in CC amplifier we see that the voltage gain is almost
equal t0 unity i.e. 1 but in CE amplifier the voltage gain is quite high around
133 with a negative sign. The negative sign shows that there is a 180
degrees phase shift between the input and output voltage which is not the
case in CC amplifiers. These differences in characteristics lead to different
usage of these amplifiers.
