1.The 3 steps of wastewater treatment are:
• Primary Treatment
• Secondary Treatment
• Tertiary Treatment
2.The purpose of primary treatment plan its to remove materials that will either float or readily
settle out by gravity.

3. The purpose of Advanced Treatment is to remove nutrients, especially nitrogen and


phosphorus, various toxic substances (such as heavy metals).

4. Wastewater from our homes passes through a sewer system (network of pipelines) which
collect and transport waste and stormwater to the wastewater treatment.

5. The 4 tests that occurs in the wastewater treatment are:

• Organic Test (BOD, COD, TOC, O &G)


• Solids Test (TS, TVS, TSS, TFS, TDS)
• Nutrients Test (NH, TKN, N-N, TP)
• Physical Properties Test (pH, Temperature, Color, Odor, Turbidity)
6.Turbidity test is used to determine the concentration of suspended particles in a sample of
water by measuring the incident light scattered at the right angles from the sample.
7. Large amounts of suspended soils or clay may clog the gills of fish and kill them directly.
8. COD Test is used to measure the degree of oxidation/degradation of organics using strong
chemical agents (dichromate in an acid solution).
