PROGRAM OBJECTIVE : SOMP is a unique initiative of selected and Continues mains giving
students. Here whatever mistakes we have committed during our
preparation, we are trying hard that you guys should not face it. SOMP is
basically a Mentorship oriented program. Here we on that side where
we help you to study well. Today in the world of free flow of information
the biggest challenge is to find the right kind of material and learn how
to utilize that material.

Why test series is important – Test series plays an important role in

clearing the prelims exam.

How we are different from others- We have included the scientific study
for making the test series. For ex – We all want to finish India Year book
but we are not able to due to its number of pages around 1000.But by
including India year Book topic wise you can finish it.

How to utilize the test series – Test series has three roles

1. Filling the knowledge gap

2. Increasing the horizon of knowledge
3. Preparing the syllabus

STRATEGY : There are 4 pillars for clearing the prelims

A. Preparing the static part. In any given year around 50 direct

questions come from the static part. Biggest mistake we
commit is leaving many topics e.g. Art and culture, medieval
Science and technology etc. Basically, you are leaving 10-15
questions even before going to exam. This is not the right way
to prepare for prelims.
Make sure you are doing all the static section of prelims.

B. Current Affairs- As we all know that UPSC has increased the

weightage of Current affairs in the prelim’s exam. Therefor we
can’t neglect the importance of C.A. too. But it doesn’t mean
that we follow 3/4/5 magazine for the Current Affairs.

 Because we want to be 100% sure of coverage.

What is the solution?

 If you compare any ¾ good institute magazine then

you will find that 70-80% content is the same. So
basically, you are running after rest 20% content.

Full Length test = 5 D. Motivation and Consistency-

Sectional Test = 16 This is the most important part. For the first attempt guy it is
a war with unknown enemy. You don’t have the confidence
whether you will be solving the paper or not. For a candidate
who is failing consistently in prelims. For them prelims
become the most important task of their life.
