Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time. General definitions of music include
common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated
concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities
of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound).

Staff - five lines, four spaces

Chromatic Symbols

Sharp - raise the tone of a note by ½ step higher

Flat - lowers the tone of a note by ½ step lower

Natural sign - It is an accidental sign used to cancel a flat or sharp from either a preceding note or the key
signature.

Fermata - a musical symbol indicating prolongation of a note

Breath mark - a comma placed above a staff to indicate the place for taking a breath

Slur - a curve line placed above/below 2 or more notes of different pitch. Sing the notes continuously.

Tie - a curve line placed above/below 2 or more notes of the same pitch. Sing the notes in a smooth and
connected manner.
