    ADOPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DEPED MANUAL OF STYLE AND


    DEPED SERVICE MARK AND VISUAL IDENTITY MANUAL

    1. In 2019, the Public Affairs Service (PAS) of the Department of Education


    (DepEd) has issued DepEd Order (Nos. 30, s. 2019) or the DepEd Manual of Style
    (DMOS) and DepEd Order (No. 31, s. 2019) or the DepEd Service Marks and Visual
    Identity Manual (DSMVIM). These issuances aim to establish standards in terms of
    DepEd’s name, seal, logo, issuances, and community.

    2. DMOS prescribes the latest language style, format, and usage based on the
    Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition and integrates DepEd House Style, which
    includes common usage within the Department.

    3. DSMVIM contains guidelines on the specifications and applications of the


    Department’s name, seal, and logo to produce a unified look in all DepEd
    communications and publication.

    4. All provisions set in DMOS and DSMVIM shall be followed by DepEd officials
    and personnel in schools division office (SDO), sub-offices, schools, and learning
    centers. These issuances are downloadable at deped.gov.ph.

    5. The adoption, use, and implementation of DMOS and DSMVIM shall take
    effect immediately. Document Control Committee (DCC) shall lead the creation of
    templates compliant with this Memorandum in the SDO, while school head shall do
    the same in their respective stations. Orientation on DMOS shall be made available
    before the summer break

    6. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Memorandum is


    expected.
