Introduction
This user guide aimed to help intended audience to activate his internet banking service and
manage his own internet banking credential. It has for sections which describes each workflow.
The first one new customer registration (enrolment with memorable word) second is changing a
static password third updating security questions and finally managing token.

1. Enroll with memorable word
This process enables a new user to create all necessary credentials which needs to activate his
internet banking service. The user must complete all the steps to accomplish the activation
process and must full fil the below preconditions.

Pre-conditions

 The user has been registered for internet banking and T24 has created the user in 4tress
along with all necessary user details including valid email address and phone number
(+251913…).
 The user has been registered with valid Memorable Word.
 The user knows their User ID and Memorable Word.
 The user is in possession of a having device (Hard or Soft Token).
 The user has been redirected to the new user registration page of the Self Service
Portal(http://172.31.6.28:9080/SSP )

Basic Steps:-
Step 1 Open a new browser window and navigate to the Self Service Portal
Step 2 click on “Enroll with memorable word” link

Step 3 Enter user ID, password and select preferable method of OOB delivery (sms/email) then
click on submit button.

Step 4 Enter the activation code once received via email/sms then click submit.
Step 5 Enter serial number of the token and select token type then click submit.

Step 6 Enter the activation code displayed on the SSP (red arrow) then enter it on your device.
The device will give you the registration code. So enter it here on the SSP then click submit.

Step 7 Select security questions from the drop down list then enter and confirm new answer to 5
displayed questions then click on submit.

Step 8 confirm the success message and click exit.

Note: Existing internet banking users (users with an active token and static
password) need to register all remaining static credentials (Security Questions &
Answers) in the Soft token portal as per solution process 3.4 – Change/Update
Security Questions & Answers.

2. Change/Update password
This process enable existing user to change their password if the forgot it.
Pre-conditions
 The user has been registered for internet banking and previously enrolled all credentials
in the from SSP.
 The user has been redirected to the change password page of the Self Service Portal
(http://172.31.6.28:9080/SSP).

Basic Steps:-
Step 1 Open a new browser window and navigate to the Self Service Portal
Step 2 click on “update password link”

Step 3 Enter your user ID and device generated OTP then click on submit button.

Step 4 provide an answer to each 3 displayed security question then click on submit.

Step 5 Enter and confirm password


Note password must:-

 Contain only alphanumeric characters


 Contain less than 20 characters
 Contain at least 6 characters
 Contain at least 3 different characters
 Not be a user attribute
 Not be in dictionary

Step 6 confirm the success message and click exit.

3. Change/Update security questions
This process enable existing user to change his if the forgot it.
Pre-conditions

 The user has been registered for internet banking and previously enrolled all
credentials in the from SSP.
 The user has been redirected to the change password page of the Self Service Portal
(http://172.31.6.28:9080/SSP).

Step 1 Open a new browser window and navigate to the SSP.


Step 2 click on “update security question and answer” link

Step 3 Enter User ID, static password and device generated OTP then click submit.

Step 4 Enter and confirm new answer to 5 displayed questions.
Step 5 confirm the success message and click exit.

4. Manage token
This process enables registered internet banking users to activate a new token (Hardware or
Software), Unlock and synchronize hard token via the SSP.

Pre-conditions
 The user has been registered for internet banking and previously enrolled all credentials
 The user is in possession of a device (Hardware or Software)
 The user has been redirected to the token management page of the SSP
(http://172.31.6.28:9080/SSP).

Basic Steps:-
Step 1 Open a new browser window and navigate to the Self Service Portal
Step 2 click on “manage tokens” link.

Step 3 Enter user ID, password and select preferable method of OOB delivery (sms/email) then
click on submit button.

Step 4 Enter the activation code once received via email/sms then click submit.

To synchronize hard token
 Enter Serial number of the hard token
 Enter device generated OTP
 Click on sync button
To unlock
 Enter Serial number of the hard token
 Enter device generated unlock code
 Click on unlock button
To delete token
 Click on the serial number of the token then confirm by clicking ok button.
