Ejercicios Suma Fuerzas y Torques - 2020 - 1

1. A uniform rod is supported by a cable on one end and rests against a wall on the other end. The rod's weight and an additional weight will be hung from the rod. The problem is to determine the minimum distance from the wall that the additional weight can be hung without causing the rod to slip. 2. The forces exerted by a trough on a sphere placed inside are calculated. The trough surfaces are frictionless. 3. A beam supports a basket of food at one end and has a bear walking out on it at the other end. The tension in the wire suspending the basket and forces on the beam are calculated for a given position of the bear.

left end of the beam. (c) What If? If the wire can
withstand a maximum tension of 900 N, what is

1. One end of a uniform 4.00-m-long rod of weight
Fg is supported by a cable. The other end rests
against the wall, where it is held by friction, as in
Figure P12.23. The coefficient of static friction
between the wall and the rod is 0.500. Determine
the mínimum distance x from point A at which an
additional weight Fg (the same as the weight of the
rod) can be hung without causing the rod to slip at
point A.

4. A 1 200-N uniform boom is supported by a cable

as in Figure P12.46. The boom is pivoted at the
bottom, and a 2 000-N object hangs from its top.
Find the tension in the cable and the components
of the reaction force exerted by the floor on the
boom.

2. A solid sphere of radius R and mass M is placed in

a trough as shown in Figure P12.42. The inner
surfaces of the trough are frictionless. Determine
the forces exerted by the trough on the sphere at
the two contact points.

5. A 10 000-N shark is supported by a cable attached

to a 4.00-m rod that can pivot at the base.
3. A hungry bear weighing 700 N walks out on a Calculate the tension in the tie-rope between the
beam in an attempt to retrieve a basket of food rod and the wall if it is holding the system in the

6. El mecanismo más usado para convertir
movimientos angulares en movimientos
lineales y viceversa es llamado manivela-
biela-corredera.

Suponga que la manivela OA gira con

velocidad angular constante de 60rev/s.
La manivela tiene una longitud de 10cm
y la biela de 45 cm. Calcule la velocidad y
la aceleración de la corredera cuando el
ángulo entre la manivela y la horizontal
es 30°.
