conducted. Any four from Group A and any four from Group B
Group A:
1. Addition and subtraction of 8/16/32 bit numbers
a. Number should be placed in memory.
b. Multiplication and division of 8 bit numbers using add and shift
method
2. Write an assembly language program to handle RST7.5 interrupt
3. Block transfer instruction for 8 bit number
4. Searching and Sorting of 8 bit number
5. Write 8086 ALP to convert an analog signal in the range of 0V to 5V to its
Corresponding digital signal using either successive approximation ADC
or dual slope ADC.
6. Write 8086 ALP to interface DAC and generate following waveforms on
oscilloscope,
a. Square wave - Variable Duty Cycle and frequency,
b. Ramp wave - Variable direction,
c. Trapezoidal wave,
d. Stair-case wave.
Group B:
7. Write 8086 ALP to rotate a stepper motor for given number of steps at a
given angle and in the given direction of rotation based on the user choice.
8. Write 8086 ALP to read command line arguments using PSP(Program
Segment Prefix) and implement “DOS COPY Command “
9. Interfacing 7-segment displays with 8255.
10. Interfacing Keyboard matrix with 8255.
11. Interfacing DAC

13. Programming for 8253.
14. Software implementation of ADC
15. Observing timing diagram on CRO.
16. Interfacing programs must be based on applications used in process
industries.

Self study-I is based on one class test each, on the basis of 20% curriculum of the
courses INU501, INU502, INU503 and INU504 to be declared by respective course
coordinator at the beginning of the semester. These class tests should be conducted
separately for each course and after CT2. The marks of all such class tests then shall
be converted to out of 25. One faculty member shall be appointed as course
coordinator for Self Study I and his/ her teaching work load shall be considered as one
hr/week.

Assembly language programming for 8051: Architecture and operation, pin out
diagram microcontroller instruction classification, instruction set Arithmetic and
logical operations, jump and call instructions etc., Writing assembly language
programming based on instruction set, stacks and subroutines.
Interrupts of 8051: Serial data I/P and O/P, serial data transmission and
communication counters and timers, timer modes timer/counter programming.
8051 microcontroller interfacing with: 8255, Keyboard and Display devices like
LED, LCD, Stepper motor interfacing, A/D and D/A chips external memories (RAM
and EPROM), Memory interfacing concepts, I/O interfacing concepts, I/O expansion,
Design of dedicated systems using 8051 for temperature indication control, Flow
indication control, stepper motor control, Embedded control systems, Smart
transmitters.

Self study-II is based on one class test each, on the basis of 20% curriculum of the
courses INU601, INU602,INU604 and INU605 to be declared by respective course

be converted to out of 25. One faculty member shall be appointed as course
coordinator for Self Study I and his/ her teaching work load shall be considered as one
