1. The current flowing in a PN-junction diode at room temperature is 200nA, when a large reverse bias is
applied. Calculate the current through the diode when 0.1V forward bias is applied.

2. In the given circuit of fig.1, a silicon diode with knee voltage 0.7V is used. The dynamic resistance of the
diode in forward bias may be assumed to be zero.
(a) If VDD=5V, what should be the value of R to establish a current of 5mA in the circuit.
(b) Determine the power dissipated in the resistor R and in the diode D, when a current of 5mA flows in the circuit
at VDD=6V.

3. Germanium diodes D1 and D2 with knee voltage 0.3V are used in the circuit given in fig.2. Determine the
potential of point X with respect to point Y.

4. The diodes used in the circuit fig.3 are identical with VT=0.6V and RF=10Ω Determine VD, ID and Vo as marked
in figure.
