Chapter IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETAION OF DATA

This chapter presents the data gathered, the results of the statistical

analysis done and interpretation of findings. These are presented in tables following the

sequence of the specific problem regarding the Perceive Effects of the Implementation

of Security Methods and Equipment in the School Premises od Data Center College of

the Philippines.

Profile of the Respondents

Table 1 and 2 below shows the profile of the respondents in terms of age

and gender. The distribution of 100 respondents were statistically treated by means of

frequency count and percentages.

Table 1 shows the age range of the respondents. Majority (41%) of the

respondents belong to the 18-19 age range. The 20-21 years old comes next which

comprises 39% of the total respondents. The lowest percent goes to 22-23 which only

comprises 6% of the total respondents

Table 2 shows the gender of the respondents. Out of the 100 respondents

surveyed, 51% are males and 49% are females which means that majority of the total

sample population are males.

Security Methods Inside the School Premises

Table 3 below shows the level of satisfaction of the students of Data

Center College of the Philippines on the security methods of inside their school. The

distribution of 100 respondents were statistically treated by means of frequency count

and percentages.

The table 3 shows the different security methods inside the Data Center

College of the Philippines and the respondents’ rating on the level of satisfaction for
each security method, where the scale of 5 means very satisfied while the scale of 1

refers to very dissatisfied.

It can be noted in the table that the students of the Data Center College of

the Philippines are Very Satisfied on the security method of requiring the students to

wear their ID’s which has a weighted mean of 4.74. On the other hand, the students are

satisfied on the various security methods which include the observant of the rules and

regulations in the school, with 4.05 weighted mean, and not allowing the students to

enter if they are not in their prescribed uniforms, with 4.02 weighted mean. However,

the students of the said school are dissatisfied on the different security methods inside

the school, such as the presence of police outside the campus and installing of metal

detectors at the entrance of the school to detect weaponry, which has 2.29 and 1.93

weighted mean, respectively.

The table clearly shows that the students of Data Center College of the

Philippines are OK with the inside security methods of the said school, garnering 3.43

as an average weighted mean.

Table 4 below shows the perceive effects of the implementation of the

security methods and equipment of Data Center College of the Philippines. The

distribution of 100 respondents were statistically treated by means of frequency count

and percentages.

The table 4 shows the perceive effects of the implementation of the

security methods and equipment of the Data Center College of the Philippines students

and the respondents’ agreement or disagreement on each perceive effects.

Majority (87%) of the total respondents strongly agree that the perceive

effects of the implementation of the security methods and equipment are, there is

mutual respect and concern for other once there are security measures in school,

proper dress code can easily identify students and faculties and students are

comfortable with security measures, while only 13 disagree.

A vast majority strongly agree that the perceive effect of the

implementation of the security methods and equipment is the students feel a higher

level of safety with the security measures implemented, comprises of 84% of the

sample population, while 16 disagree. Another is students felt having rapport with the

security guard, which 82% of the total respondents and 18% disagreed.
