Internship Report Final

Internship Done at- National handicraft and handloom museum

• One of the largest craft museum in India.
• Run by ministry of textile.

INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION
• An Indian-Kyrgyzstan joint exhibition was held in
Kyrgyzstan during the visit of prime minister Mr. Narendra
Modi for SCO summit on 13 June 2019.
• Colours of weavers in central Asia.
• 14 June to 24 June 2019.
• 51 textile objects were sent from Crafts museum for
exhibition on Loan.
• Loans and temporary custody of objects.
SELECTION OF OBJECTS
• Keeping in mind details given by the Ministry of Textile
• Details – size of objects should be small
less fragile
objects should be linned and should have nefa
white marble exhibition hall
• We selected more of brocades, block prints, kalamkaris
and ikats.
• Dark coloured objects.
• Shiny objects.
• Neglected jamdanis, muslin and chikankari objects.
PHOTOGRAPHY
• Photographers were called from the Ministry.
• Photograph of each object to be sent on loan.
• Photography is done for- making a record
documentation

objects.

• A textile specialist was invited from the ministry to do
the costing of the objects.
• Insurace value is given to each object.
• Insurace value is given according to
a) Age of the object
b) Type of the object
c) Type of sourcing
d) Condition of the object
