Natural Health, wealth and culture of people in a geographical area depend on
the indigenous medicinal knowledge and so the study of medicinal plants should begin with the tribal community inhabiting that area. Still only a small percentage of medicinal plants are being explored scientifically with phytochemical and pharmacological studies (Adesina. 2009). The previous reports by Saxena et al., 1988; Sarkar et al., 1999; Rout et al., 2010; Kala, 2005 shows the importance of Rauvolfia as a medicinal plant by tribals in India.
