Project-based learning is a teaching method where students gain and apply


skills by working on a long project where they complete an in-depth inquiry
into a specific topic or question.

Benefits
 It is exciting for students. Student interest equals engagement, which will
raise your test scores without all that boring test prep.
 It allows students to see how multiple standards and skills work together in
real-life situations
 Students work to investigate the concepts by making their own choices.
Once you’ve set up the parameters, the students do all the work.
 Students learn how to solve problems that are important to them, including
real community issues, more effectively—even learning from failure and
possibly starting over.
 Students learn to look at problems with a critical thinking lens, asking
questions and coming up with possible solutions for their project.
 Students take ownership over their projects, reflecting on and celebrating
their progress and accomplishments.
 Students learn how to manage projects and assignments more
efficiently.
