EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Palawpreneur will be established by six BS Entrepreneur students of Palawan State University.

The business name “Palawpreneur” which came from the combination of the word Palawan and

Entrepreneur, because the products that will be offer to the market are the native Palaw-an

products, the business name will specify and know that the products mainly came from Palawan,

not only to know the place but also the beautiful creation of the people who live here specifically

the Palaw-an. Palawpreneur which aims to promote the culture of Palawan will be under cultural

and food industry. Today, tourism is rapidly increasing due to the beautiful destinations that we

have in Palawan, through these, local and international tourists are finding something unique

which they can bring back home and proudly say that it is originally made in Palawan. The

business will offer different kinds of local food products that is made of Palawan root crops.

These are Sweet Coconut Cookies, Cassava Cookies, Ube Chips and Honey. The business will

be located at Junction 2, San Pedro Puerto Princesa City in the area near the Jollibe Drive Thru,

and Robinson’s mall. . The reason for choosing the place is that it is in the center and easy to

locate from anywhere in Puerto Princesa City.

The business will employ person/s that is devoted to work, with skilled and trustworthy,

as well as a person who has a joyful personality and willingness to do his/her job very well. The

Palawpreneur will also use social media to connect with the target market, they can visit the

Facebook page PALAWPRENEUR-Puerto Princesa City as the prior information of the

business. Some advertisement would be like online advertisement, public relation campaign,

letters, flyers, email, product offerings, promotional tours, point of sale displays, placing poster

around the city and advertising using broadcast media. The Palaw-Preneuer are planning to

expand the business in municipalities in North and South part of Palawan. The municipalities are

El-nido, TayTay, Coron, and Bataraza, San Vicente, Roxas, Brooke’s point Palawan.

The Industry

Trip to Palawan will not be completely perfect when you don’t have this term “souvenir

and pasalubong”. Palawpreneur which aims to promote the culture of Palawan will be under

cultural and food industry. Today, tourism is rapidly increasing due to the beautiful destinations

that we have in Palawan, through these, local and international tourists are finding something

unique which they can bring back home and proudly say that it is originally made in Palawan.

A Canadian newsmagazine writer Charles Gordon stated that “We live in a souvenir

society, a world in which everything we do, everywhere we go, has to be commemorated”.

Souvenirs and Food industry is now a new trend, it awakens a sleeping giant industry by the

growing number of tourist that come and visit Palawan.

The business belongs to the cultural and products. The main target market of the industry

are the tourist who visited a specific place where they can buy something that reminds them of

the memories they have and they can only buy in one place. The other customers are those

people who love cultural products and the foreigners who wanted to try the culture we have. It

can also be the person who wanted to preserved the culture of a certain place as well as the

person that are eager to help native people.

foreign people who visited to our country and wanted to try the kind of culture that we have.

Palawan is one of the most visited place in the country because of its tourist attraction. The

Palawpreneur’s target market are the people of Palawan who loves the culture we have and those

who love pastry and chip products, the tourists and foreigners who visited the island of Palawan,

as well as the shops who sells a cultural and products.

THE COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Company Logo

The company logo is design base on the products we will offer; The logo

is shaped in circle with a colorful background of mat “banig” to show

that the business offers cultural products and a native girl at the center

which symbolizes as the native people who are the main suppliers of

the business Palawpreneur, it has a sentence “original Palaw-an products”

below to showcase that the products are mainly produces by the Palaw-an itself.

The color red symbolizes as the determination of pursuing the advocacy of the business;

Yellow stands for the positivity and joy in operating the business; Pink is for building friendship

towards Palaw-an; and the color green symbolizes the preservation of the environment for

sustainable development.

Company Name

The business will be name “Palawpreneur” which came from the combination of the

word Palawan and entrepreneur. Palawan is one of the tourist destination in the Philippines

because of its beautiful beaches and tourist spots that attracts customers to visit the place. The

business choose the name Palawpreneur because the products that will be offer to the market are

the native Palaw-an products, the business name will specify and know that the products mainly

came from Palawan, not only to know the place but also the beautiful creation of the people who

live here specifically the Palaw-an.

History

Palawpreneur is a group of students that aims to promote the culture of Palawan through

their products. It will particularly build by the 2nd year students of Palawan State University

(main campus) specifically studying Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship with special tracks

of Agribusiness and is consists of 6 members namely; Danessa Balajadia, Rose Abegail Baylon,

Charisse Gacot, Rica Malandac, Erlynda Manglicmot and Saharah Sultan. The owners divided

its group into two to specify the products that will be offer to the market, one group will offer

souvenir while the other one are the combination of food and other products of Palaw-an.

The Palawpreneur is a business that will offer a pure native Palaw-an products to the

customers and will ensure that the products is made by the Palaw-an itself, the business also aims

to promote the culture we have in Palawan nationwide as well as aiming to be the most popular

brand in our country. The owners came up with the idea of helping the Palaweños (group of

Palaw-an) who are selling its products to the market and in return, only got a small amount of

money and is not a trustworthy based on what they are selling. The students see it as a problem

that needs a solution and at the same time a business that will gain profit.

The idea originally came from the pineapple products of the people of Bataraza, Palawan

as it was not locally introduces to the market and many were loss because of some problems and

later on replaced by the products of Palaweños who are living far from city (some are in the

mountains) yet managed to come to the market to sell their hand-made products but was ignored

and sometimes only got a small money (enough to satisfy their hungriness for the day). The

Palawpreneur will help not only the promotion of Palawan culture but also the Palaw-an who are

creative in making hand-made products to gain profit as well as the entrepreneurs of the

business.

The Palawpreneur execute the native Palaw-an products by buying and creating unique

brand to promote and distribute the Palawan culture nationwide and help the Palaw-an produce

its hand-made products.

Vision

To be recognize as the most popular unique cultural brand in the country.

Goals

1. The Palawpreneur aims to promote the Palawan culture through the Palaw-an native

products.

2. To gain and maximize profit.

3. Provide excellent and unique products of Palawan.

Objectives

1. To create an attractive and unique brand to ensure customer satisfaction and provide the

native Palaw-an products as one of the good quality and trustworthy pure hand-made

Palawan products.

2. Ensuring that the Palawpreneur will maximize its profit through giving its 30% of the

sales to the Palaw-an and 70% to the entrepreneur with promoting the Palawan cultural

products to customers and offering an affordable prices.

3. To ensure that the products exceeds customers satisfaction by creating a diverse unique

products brand and ensuring that the products are originally made by Palaw-an while

providing an excellent customer services.

MARKETING PLAN

Products

The Palawpreneur will offer different kind of cultural products in terms of foods that will

satisfy the wants of the target market and that will be affordable to the consumer. The business

will sell original products of Palawan that will promote cultural products and unique brand. The

foods that will be offer are Honey, Kamote Cookies, Cassava Cookies and Ube Chips.

The description of each product are as follow:

Honey- is a sweet, viscous food substance made by bees and same related insects. It has been

used as a sweetener.

Kamote Cookies- is a new flavor for cookie that is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. It is a

kind of vegetable that is high in an antioxidant known as the betacarotene, which converts to

vitamin A when it is consumed. Also the coconut milk is use as the milk for this cookies.

Cassava Cookies- also an innovate flavor of a cookie. It is rich in carbohydrates and can provide

calories.

Purple Yam or Ube Chips- there are lots of chips that has been sell in the market. Palawpreneur

has noticed that ube chips is still not existing, since that ube is one of root crops that Palaw-an

people have they come up with this idea. It is rich in antioxidants including anthocyanins and

vitamin C also it helps to manage our blood sugar and may help to lower blood pressure.

Promotion Strategy

In order to start the business, the owners intend to know the possible strategies within
their market, as well as the trends for them to use as one of their strategy to cope with the
customers. Some advertisement would be like online advertisement, public relation campaign,
letters, flyers, email, product offerings, promotional tours, point of sale displays, placing poster
around the city and advertising using broadcast media. Before crafting the promotion strategy,
the business will must know the profile of the target market very well. Palawpreneur will have
explicit communication to customer especially on campaigning the products to the tourist,
having a detailed information why they purchase the products. Offering the highest level of
customer service, with the commitment to focus on the quality and pride for our products.

Here are other promotional strategies that Palawpreneurs should do:

 Personal selling- a face to face presentation to our target market.


 Social Media- with the help of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, Youtube and ect.
 E-commerce- our company’s website through online communication with our customers.

 Public Relation- linking our business with the aspect of public interest and programs, in
order to design understanding and acceptance.

Price of the Products

The price of each product will be based on how much is the price of every ingredient in

order to produce one product. Sample pricing method:

If the one kilo of ube is purchase by the entrepreneur of P100.00, and can produce of about 5

bottles of 500 mg, and by adding all the other ingredients the coconut milk P20.00, ½ kilo of

flour P25.00, 200 grams of butter P60.00, 1kl of kamote P35.00, one pack of baking powder

P12.00 and 1 kilo of sugar P30.00. Here is the following computation in price per bottle:

OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN

I. PROCESS OF CREATING PRODUCTS


Sweet Coconut Cookies

Ingredients:
 1/2 Cup Bread flour
 50 Grams Butter
 1 Cup Coconut milk
 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
 1 Tsp Vanilla
 1 Egg
 1/2 Tsp Baking powder
 1/2 cup Camote flour
 Salt
Procedure

1. Wash and peel off the sweet potato and grate.


2. Dry the grated sweet potato within two days until it becomes white.
3. Measure all the ingredient according to the
4. In a mixing bowl combine the 50 grams’ butter,1/3 cup brown sugar, 1pcs egg
and 1 tsp vanilla mix it well and set aside.
5. In a clean bowl combine the 1/2 cup bread flour, 1/2 cup camote flour, 1/2 tsp
baking powder and 1/8 tsp of salt and set aside.
6. Combine all the mix ingredient in separate bowl using spatula mix until well
combined or until it turns into a dough form.
7. Form the dough in using any kind of scoop you want.
8. Pre heat the oven with in 10mins.
9. Bake the cookies with in 10mins.

UBE CHIPS

Ingredients:
 Cooking oil
 Ube
 Brown Sugar

Procedure:

1. Slice ube into thick pieces using a knife.


2. Dry the ube within 2 days.
3. Preheat oil in a large deep heavy bottomed pot until temperature register 325’F on
deep fry thermometer.
4. Slice ube into 1/8-inch-thick piece using a knife
5. Deep fry slices in batches until crisp, about to 10 to 50 minutes, transfer to a
large, paper, towel, lined bowl. Transfer to airtight container.

Ube Chips also in this page you can see the prices of each product and you can message us if you
buy our product. By the help of this page we can easily distinguish the areas that we need to
improve.

Shop

The Palawpreneur Shop was located at Junction 2 Barangay. San Pedro Puerto Princesa
City in front of the Life Church, we choose this location because that it is in the center and easy
to locate from anywhere in Puerto Princesa City.

Joining Different Bazaars

By this we can easily communicate to our customers about the products that we have and
through this the name of our business will going to be familiar to them. Also joining bazaars and
events can help us to socialize and tie up with other business that we have in our city.

III. Competitive analysis

IV. BUSINESS EXPAND PLAN

The Palaw-Preneuer are planning to expand the business in municipalities in North and

South part of Palawan. The municipalities are El-nido, TayTay, Coron, and Bataraza, San

Vicente, Roxas, Brooke’s Point Palawan. The reason for choosing these municipalities is

because of the tourist destination present in a certain place around the Municipalities, also a

municipality where most of the supplies will come.

The business is also aiming to have more input to small shops that will be given a chance

to supply our products in order to spread the products we offer as well as promote the culture of

Palaw-an.
